THE HIP HOP NUTCRACKER Comes to Rochester One Night Only

The Hip Hop Nutcracker (www.hiphopnutcracker.com), a contemporary dance spectacle set to Tchaikovsky's timeless music, hits the road this holiday season to 28 U.S. cities. The show will perform in Rochester at RBTL's Auditorium Theatre for one night only on December 20! Produced by the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) with Executive Producer, Eva Price, and co-commissioned by the United Palace of Cultural Arts, The Hip Hop Nutcracker will feature Kurtis Blow, one of hip hop's founding fathers, opening the show in most cities with a short set before rapping the introduction.

Celebrate the release of the Mark White Octet's debut recording with a live performance at THE BLACK BOX, downtown Franklin's theater, music and event venue, at 8 p.m. on Friday, December 1. Featuring West Coast Swing with an East Coast vibe, the Octet includes Mark White (guitar), Scott deOgburn (piano), Jon Garniss (trombone), Kenny Hadley (drums), Rick Hammet (trumpet), Arnie Krakowsky (tenor sax), Mark Poniatowski (bass) and Ken Reid (bari sax), world-class musicians whose performance r sum s include a long list of music royalty. THE BLACK BOX CD release party will also feature special guests Ben Whiting, Jeff Stout and Barry Smith. Presented by CAPA, the Lincoln Theatre Association, and the King Arts Complex, The Hip Hop Nutcracker is a contemporary re-imagining of Tchaikovsky's timeless music performed by a supercharged cast of a dozen all-star dancers, an on-stage DJ, and an electric violinist. Kurtis Blow, one of hip hop's founding fathers, will kick off the show with a short set and then rap the introduction.
