Shoshana Greenberg has announced the release of season three of SCENE TO SONG, a musical theater podcast, on Monday, January 27, 2020.

The 13th season of New York Theatre Barn's signature New Works Series will launch on Monday, February 3rd, 2020, with exclusive pre-premieres of the new musicals Johnny & the Devil's Box and Burned. New York Theatre Barn serves as a home for new musicals during incubation.

Up-and-coming playwright Justin McDevitt's full length drama HONEY FITZ will have its fifth public reading at the historic Stonewall Inn on February 3 at 8pm.

Manhattan musical duo Michael Garin and Mardie Millit have been known to stir up delicious musical mayhem wherever they go. Michael is a Drama Desk Award-winning composer/lyricist (for Song of Singapore) and Emerson College dropout who has made a living entertaining New Yorkers, playing the piano and singing at the Monkey Bar, the Rainbow Room, the VIP room at Limelight, and the Williamstown Theater Festival, to name a few. Mardie has a degree in Classical Voice from The Ohio State University and spent many years playing roles like Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady and Maria in The Sound of Music in regional theatres around the country before embarking on a cabaret career. They met each other at Jim Caruso's Cast Party at Birdland in 2005 and began performing together soon after, most notably on Sunday nights at the legendary Elaine's, from 2008 until its closing in 2011.

After a lifetime overthinking every second of every day, cabarettist Molly Pope sets up camp at the Duplex to search for the one thing that has always escaped her: a good time.  Armed with the two things absolutely necessary for a good timea?"a gay man and a piano a?" she draws on a trove of old songs, new songs, and why-the-hell-not songs in changing mostly sets.

Amy Hayes returns to Honey Fitz for the fifth public reading of this new full length drama by up-and-coming playwright Justin McDevitt.

An evening celebrating the work of composer Jeff Thomson also showcases singers' noncommittal attitude toward actually learning the words to the songs they sing.

Sweden's greatest modernist playwright, August Strindberg, returned from the Continent to Stockholm in 1906, where he lived out his last seven years. There he wrote 'The Pelican' for his Intimate Theater in 1907 and 'Isle of the Dead' (Toten-Insel) immediately after as its prologue. The latter was unpublished until 1918 and rediscovered in the early 60s, when it was found and promptly dismissed as an incomplete fragment. The two plays were finally reunited by Ingmar Bergman in a radio version in 2003. It was his last dramatic production. From February 6 to 22 August Strindberg Rep, a resident company of Theater for the New City (TNC), will bring the two plays to the stage together for the first time in history. It will also be the world premiere of new English translations of both plays by Robert Greer, Artistic Director of Strindberg Rep, who helms the production.
