Kristy Cates, celebrated as the star of the mega smash Wicked for its Broadway and Touring runs, guests at Scott Nevins' Curtain Call directly following the video madness of Musical Mondays on February 9th at 11:30pm., The vocal wonder Cates will serve up a full set of Broadway's hottest tunes, 'blowing the roof off of Splash with one Diva turn after another' as the press notes state. Kristy Cates is best known for her roles in the original Broadway cast of Wicked (ensemble/Elphaba understudy). Kristy then went on to a year long run as Elphaba in the Chicago production of Wicked. She was most recently seen at Carnegie Hall in the ensemble of 'Jerry Springer the Opera' starring Harvey Keitel. Off Broadway/ Regional: Human Race Theatre (Stephen Schwartz's 'Snapshots'), Princess Ida, St. Louis MUNY, The Lucille Lortel White Barn Theatre , North Bay Opera, The Playhouse on the Green, The Eugene O'Neill Conference and the NY Fringe Festival, MANY readings of new works. She recently concluded a production of a new musical UNBEATABLE at the Pheonix Theatre, in which she plays a woman battling cancer. The production is expected to open off Broadway at New World Stages this upcoming Spring. On Monday, January 26th, New York Theatre Barn will present the first NYTB @ The Duplex of 2009. The monthly cabaret series highlights new composers, lyricists, and performers. The evening will feature The Rebekah Melocik Songbook, with performances by Meredith Anderson, Jennifer Harrison, and Matt Lutz and musical direction and accompaniment by Aaron Jodoin. Additional music is by Aaron Fisher. Singer and songwriter Rori Nogee (Off-Broadway's Pinkalicious) will also be featured during the evening. MGC Productions, a new LGBT theatre company, is excited to announce that on January 19th at 9:30pm Broadway Speaks Out will be live at the Duplex on Christopher Street. The event will feature Brian Charles Rooney (Three Penny Opera), Hannah Shankman (Rent Tour), Anthony Hollock and Allison Guinn (Hair), Michael Burbach, and Elliot Roth and Jenn Lederer (Midtwenties). The show will also feature famed drag performer Sherry Vine. Hosted by MGC Productions director, Martin Gould Cummings.

Composer and lyricist Scott Alan returned to Birdland on January 12th for a concert featuring a starry line-up of Broadway performers. The January 12th performance featured selections from Alan's debut CD, 'Dreaming Wide Awake' and his recently released CD 'Keys.'

Erin Davie, who co-starred in Broadway's Grey Gardens, will host the January 26 Monday Nights, New Voices' concert at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre. The 7pm concert will celebrate the work of composer and lyricist team Joshua Salzman and Ryan Cunningham. Those scheduled to perform are Wade Dooley, Wade Elkins, Jennifer Lorae, John Pinto, Isabel Santiago and Ali Stroker.

Cait Doyle takes the city by storm performing Hot Mess in Manhattan at the Duplex ( 61 Christopher Street at Seventh Avenue ) on January 9th, 16th, and 23rd at 7pm.

Award winning vocalists Brian Farley and David Gurland return for one final performance of their first full show together.- An evening of RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN. Already great interpreters of the American Popular songbook, this will be the pair's first foray into the catalog of arguably the greatest songwriting team in history. Featuring songs from Carousel, The Sound of Music, The King and I, this years' biggest Broadway hit South Pacific, and many more. Musically directed by Tracy Stark., The show previously played the Laurie Beechman Theatre in July to packed houses and ecstatic reviews.

tick, tick...BOOM! by Pulitzer Prize Winner Jonathan Larson returns to the Provincetown Theatre on December 26th for 8 performances only until January 3rd. Perormances run every night at 7pm, except for Thursday, January 1st. 'We love you, Liza!,' a faint, but audible voice yelled from what seemed to be a far corner of the Palace Theatre's mezzanine. And though the 62-year-old entertainer was understandably still catching her breath after a spirited vaudevillian delivery of Styne, Comden & Green's tongue-twisting comic masterpiece, 'If,' she suddenly stopped what she was doing, lifted her face to the direction of the adulation and with a soft, angelic look of wonderment, answered in a clear, strong voice, 'I love you, too. You know I do.'

Comic singers Booth Daniels and Patrick Frankfort return to the Duplex with their hilarious duo act on December 5 at 7PM & December 6 at 10PM after successful shows in New York City and Los Angeles over the past year. The December 6th show will be a joint performance with the sketch comedy group FUCT (Fordham Underground Comedy Troupe).

Downtown diva Kate Pazakis headlines her first Zipper show, KatePazakis: Unzipped! on December 9th, 2008 at 7:00pm and again at 10:30pm. The show will be recorded for Pazakis' first live album.
