2014 Bobby G Awards Ceremony Set for Tonight

Denver Center Attractions previously announced the 2014 nominees for The Bobby G Awards - the Colorado regional awards program for The National High School Musical Theater Awards. The awards ceremony, tonight, May 29 at 7pm at The Buell Theatre, includes performances from the shows nominated for Outstanding Overall Production, a medley featuring the nominees for Outstanding Performance by an Actor/Actress in a Leading Role and honors outstanding achievements by students and educators made in the areas of performance, design, direction, choreography, technical production and overall production excellence.

FAILURE: A LOVE STORY Receives West Coast Premiere at MTC, 6/5-29

To close its 47th Season, Marin Theatre Company will produce the West Coast premiere of Failure: A Love Story by the 'hugely talented Chicago writer' (Chicago Tribune) Philip Dawkins. Directed by MTC's artistic director Jasson Minadakis, this 'enchanted and enchanting' play about love and loss will feature five actors playing multiple characters, using puppets and playing live music both original (by MTC's frequent collaborator Chris Houston, a Berkeley-based composer and musician) and from the era of the play - 1920s Chicago.

United Airlines to Launch New Nonstop Service between Denver and Panama City

United Airlines today announced that it will introduce nonstop flights between its hub at Denver International Airport and Panama City beginning Dec. 3, subject to government approval with flights available for sale at a later date. The new service will operate daily November through August and five times weekly in September and October, offering Denver-area travelers direct access to the Panamanian capital and connections to several additional cities in Central and South America through United's strategic partnership with Copa Airlines.

ONCE National Tour Begins Buell Theatre Run on 5/6

ONCE, winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and winner of the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, plays The Buell Theatre May 6 through 18 only. Tickets are on sale now at Denvercenter.org.

ANIMAL CRACKERS Plays The Stage Theatre, Now thru 5/11

Dixie Longate Returns to Denver with 'TUPPERWARE PARTY' & 'MECHANICAL BULL,' Now thru 4/20

Denver's favorite fast-talking Tupperware lady returns with not only DIXIE'S TUPPERWARE PARTY but also the World Premiere of Dixie Longate's NEVER WEAR A TUBE TOP WHILE RIDING A MECHANICAL BULL (AND 16 OTHER THINGS I LEARNED WHILE I WAS DRINKING LAST THURSDAY). DIXIE'S TUPPERWARE PARTY plays The Garner Galleria Theatre for four weeks only today, March 26 through April 20.

Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble Presents CLEO ON CLEO Tonight

Fans of Denver's renowned Cleo Parker Robinson Dance performances are in for a special blend of nostalgia and modern dance with this year's 'CLEO ON CLEO: Voices of Yesterday and Tomorrow.' Audiences will enjoy tributes to the late South African president Nelson Mandela and American civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as well as classic works including one created in collaboration with the celebrated American poet Dr. Maya Angelou.

Laurain Park Wins DCPA's Regional Youth Playwriting Competition

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) has announced that high school freshman Laurain Park's play, One-Sided Fish, was selected for production from 75 submissions to the Regional Youth Playwriting Workshop and Competition. Following the staged reading from the Colorado New Play Summit in early February, the play will be produced by the Denver Center Theatre Academy and will be performed twice in the Conservatory Theatre on June 27. Additionally, Park was awarded a $250 cash scholarship.

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET to Play Buell Theatre, 2/25-3/9
