Beth Malone Takes on Title Role in DCTC's THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN, Beginning Tonight

Beth Malone, a Parker native, will play the coveted title role in the 'refreshed' launch of the famous Broadway musical, THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN, beginning at the Denver Center Theatre Company (DCTC) tonight, Sept. 12. The staging is helmed by three-time Tony winner Kathleen Marshall and written by three-time Tony nominee Dick Scanlan.

GROUNDED, 'Playdate' Series and More Set for BETC's Season Nine

The Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company (BETC) announced their ninth season last spring. However, with its first opening fast approaching, the company is releasing details on an added production and new programming for parents, young theatregoers and those looking to deepen their theatre experience.

Breaking: Matthew James Thomas Takes Over PIPPIN for Denver Tour Launch

Matthew James Thomas, who originated the role of PIPPIN in the current 2013 Tony Award winning revival, will perform the role of PIPPIN when the show launches its tour in Denver on September 6 and will play the entire Denver engagement. Kyle Selig will be taking a medical leave of absence for vocal rest from thePIPPIN tour. This all-new production of Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's PIPPIN is directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus, features choreography by Tony Award nominee Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse and circus creation by Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main (also known as 7 Fingers). PIPPIN plays The Buell Theatre September 6 through 20 only (Media Night: Sept.10). Tickets are on sale now at Denvercenter.org or by calling 303.893.4100.

STAGE TUBE: PIPPIN National Tour's Kyle Selig Shows Fans a Day in Life as Pippin in Anticipation of Denver Opening

Kyle Selig stars as Pippin in the new national touring production of PIPPIN that launches in Denver on Sept. 6. Kyle sent his selfie video series, JOIN US: A DAY IN THE LIFE OF PIPPIN that The Denver Center for the Performing Arts put together into a vlog to show fans a fun day in the life of Kyle and his show. In this video, he meets up with castmates (including Leading Player Sasha Allen), jugglers and even some comic sleight of video hand. Get a first look into rehearsals. Enjoy the view.

Photographer Mark Kiryluk Opens Debut Exhibit, THROUGH MY EYES, THROUGH THE YEARS, Today

In his debut exhibit, photographer Mark Kiryluk will be presenting a panoramic collection of his photography taken during his 40-year career. The exhibit, 'Through My Eyes, Through The Years,' will be held at ABC Custom Framing located in Denver's University Hills Shopping Center tonight, August 22, 5-10 pm, and is free and open to the public. A wine reception with Mr. Kiryluk will open the evening festivities.

The Denver Center Theatre Company today announced the complete cast and creative team for the highly anticipated new adaptation of Meredith Willson's classic musical, THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN. Based on the book by Richard Morris, the revitalized production will feature a new book and additional lyrics by three-time Tony Award nominee Dick Scanlan (Thoroughly Modern Millie) and showcase never before heard songs from Willson's prolific body of work with musical adaptation by Michael Rafter (Violet). The production opens for previews on September 12 in The Stage Theatre and will be directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes).

FAILURE: A LOVE STORY Receives West Coast Premiere at MTC Tonight

To close its 47th Season, Marin Theatre Company will produce the West Coast premiere of Failure: A Love Story by the 'hugely talented Chicago writer' (Chicago Tribune) Philip Dawkins. Directed by MTC's artistic director Jasson Minadakis, this 'enchanted and enchanting' play about love and loss will feature five actors playing multiple characters, using puppets and playing live music both original (by MTC's frequent collaborator Chris Houston, a Berkeley-based composer and musician) and from the era of the play - 1920s Chicago.

The Bobby G Award Goes To...

Denver Center Attractions announces the 2014 recipients for The Bobby G Awards - the Colorado regional awards program for The National High School Musical Theater Awards. Conner Kingsley and Abby Noble, the 2014 Bobby G Award recipients of the Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role and Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role, will represent Colorado at The National High School Musical Theater Awards in New York. Conner Kingsley played Igor in Lakewood High School's production of Young Frankenstein. Abby Noble played Gertrude McFuzz in Grandview High School's production of Seussical.
