The Denver Center for the Performing Arts has announced the appointment of Matthew Lopez as Denver Center Playwriting Fellow for the 2014/15 Theatre Company season.
Beth Malone, a Parker native, will play the coveted title role in the 'refreshed' launch of the famous Broadway musical, THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN, beginning at the Denver Center Theatre Company (DCTC) tonight, Sept. 12. The staging is helmed by three-time Tony winner Kathleen Marshall and written by three-time Tony nominee Dick Scanlan.
The Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company (BETC) announced their ninth season last spring. However, with its first opening fast approaching, the company is releasing details on an added production and new programming for parents, young theatregoers and those looking to deepen their theatre experience.

Kyle Selig stars as Pippin in the new national touring production of PIPPIN that launches in Denver on Sept. 6. In his debut exhibit, photographer Mark Kiryluk will be presenting a panoramic collection of his photography taken during his 40-year career. The exhibit, 'Through My Eyes, Through The Years,' will be held at ABC Custom Framing located in Denver's University Hills Shopping Center tonight, August 22, 5-10 pm, and is free and open to the public. A wine reception with Mr. Kiryluk will open the evening festivities.

To close its 47th Season, Marin Theatre Company will produce the West Coast premiere of Failure: A Love Story by the 'hugely talented Chicago writer' (Chicago Tribune) Philip Dawkins. Directed by MTC's artistic director Jasson Minadakis, this 'enchanted and enchanting' play about love and loss will feature five actors playing multiple characters, using puppets and playing live music both original (by MTC's frequent collaborator Chris Houston, a Berkeley-based composer and musician) and from the era of the play - 1920s Chicago.
Denver Center Attractions announces the 2014 recipients for The Bobby G Awards - the Colorado regional awards program for The National High School Musical Theater Awards. Conner Kingsley and Abby Noble, the 2014 Bobby G Award recipients of the Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role and Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role, will represent Colorado at The National High School Musical Theater Awards in New York. Conner Kingsley played Igor in Lakewood High School's production of Young Frankenstein. Abby Noble played Gertrude McFuzz in Grandview High School's production of Seussical.
