The Alden Theatre in McLean welcomes Boston-based a cappella group, Ball in the House (www.ballinthehouse.com), for one performance tonight, Dec. 15, at 8 p.m. The event is part of the Alden's, "Live @ The Alden" series, which is geared to young adults. In 1994 Anthony Rapp was working at a Starbucks and about to audition for Rent a new musical by a young guy named Jonathan Larson. An inspiring story about friends and artists struggling in New York's Lower East Side, it was based loosely on Puccini's La Bohème. Anthony got the part, but Jonathan died suddenly the night before the musical's off-Broadway premiere.

The Midtown Men, original cast members from Broadway's Jersey Boys, recently collaborated with writer and musician Stevie Van Zandt to record a new version of Van Zandt's 'All Alone on Christmas.' This Past Monday, November 12th, cast members from the national tour of Jersey Boys hosted the a cabaret fundraiser called 'Rock Like a Man' at the Carolina Theatre to benefit BCEFA and the Carolina Arts Discovery Program. The cast sang songs from the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Bob Marley and more - and included several original songs written by cast members themselves. The event raised over $9000. Jersey Boys is running at the Durham Performing Arts Center through November 18th.

Michael Longoria of The Midtown Men announced via Facebook that the guys have just released their very first, much awaited, Christmas single, 'All Alone on Christmas,' which is now available on iTunes.
