50 fearless and inspiring short works from some of Australia's best playwrights will be simultaneously livestreamed by more than 30 performing arts organisations from across Australia between the 2-5 July.

The Abbey Theatre today announced additional programming changes, including further postponements and show cancellations, as a result of the ongoing impact of its closure during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

LipZinc Theatre has announced their new production Talking Icons, written and directed by our Artistic Director Tzarini Meyler. The show will be streamed live on their Youtube channel in two parts on the 10th and 11th of June at 8pm GMT+1 (Irish Time).

Over four nights (28 April - 1 May), audiences throughout Ireland and across the globe can watch the world premiere of Dear Ireland a?" a historic digital theatre project that brings together 50 brand new monologues, commissioned by the Abbey Theatre as a rapid response to the COVID-19 crisis. Each piece of work was written and created in self isolation by 100 participating artists.

The Abbey Theatre has commissioned writers from Ireland, with unique additional contributions from the USA, China and Italy, to each write a monologue, to be performed by 50 actors, and then streamed on the Abbey's digital platforms. Today, 15 April 2020, Graham McLaren and Neil Murray, Directors of the Abbey Theatre, announce the lineup of artists taking part in the theatre's historic project, Dear Ireland.

In advance of the opening of public booking on Saturday, 4 April, the twelve singers chosen to take part in the inaugural Wexford Factory were announced.

The Directors of the Abbey Theatre have released a statement regarding program changes for 2020.

Dr. Frances Ruane, Chair of the Board of the Abbey Theatre, announced today that Máire O'Higgins, Breda O'Keeffe, Michael Owens and Michael West have been appointed to the board. The new appointments were confirmed at a meeting of the Abbey Theatre's Board of Directors on Monday, 9 March 2020.

The Abbey Theatre today, 6 March 2020, announced that Sarah Smith has been appointed to the role of Technical Director of the Abbey Theatre.

From 1 - 11 April 2020, the Abbey Theatre presents Ireland's Call, the explosive one-man play written and performed by John Connors.

After a strong critical & audience response, Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciarán O'Reilly, Producing Director) announced today a one-week extension for Lady G: Plays and Whisperings of Lady Gregory. Lady G is written by Lady Augusta Gregory with additional material by Ciarán O'Reilly (Dublin Carol), and direction by O'Reilly. Originally set to close on March 22, 2020, Lady G will now play in the W. Scott McLucas Studio Theatre through March 29, 2020.

Final casting is announced for the London premiere of Christopher Durang's Tony Award-winning Best Play comedy, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, directed by Walter Bobbie (Tony award winner for 'Chicago').

This year's edition of 5x5, the Abbey Theatre's community theatre development programme supporting diversity and greater access at Ireland's National Theatre, starts today. This year's group of five projects include a Direct Provision theatre group, a Men's Shed, a group of women from the north inner city, a group of blind and visually impaired people, and a group of LGBT+ Irish speakers.

The World Premiere of What I (Don't) Know About Autism makes history tonight, Tuesday 4th of February, as the first-ever 'relaxed performance' staged at Ireland's National Theatre.

Currently in previews, a?oeUntil the Flooda?? will open at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre on Wednesday, January 29 at 8 p.m. Written and starring Dael Orlandersmith and directed by Neel Keller, a?oeUntil the Flooda?? will continue through February 23.
