NPR radio personality, author and performance artist Joe Frank returns to Steppenwolf Theatre Company for one night only with his new show Murdered by the Mind, directed by ensemble member Terry Kinney and featuring noted musicians Danny Frankel (percussion) and David Ralicke(saxophone and keyboards) on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 8 pm in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). Emerging company Letter of Marque Theater Co. will be joined by Terry Kinney (co-founder of the Steppenwolf Theater Company) in LOM's premiere of their new holiday play, Gifts. The forthcoming Broadway production REAR WINDOW has found its creative team in playwright Keith Reddin(Too Much Memory, Life and Limb) and director Terry Kinney (reasons to be pretty, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest). The play will be adapted from Cornell Woolrich's original short story, the iconic and haunting tale of the wheelchair-bound witness to a possible murder in his neighboring New York City apartment.

Monday night, Julia Jordan, Theresa Rebeck, Marsha Norman, Tim Sanford and The Committee for Recognizing Women in Theatre presented the 4thAnnual Lilly Awards at Playwrights Horizons. Named for playwright Lillian Hellman, The Lilly Awards were created to recognize the extraordinary contributions made by women to the American Theater. Producers, playwrights, actors, designers, and directors were honored last night for their continued excellence in the theater community. Check out a look back at the ceremony below!

Co-founders John Stoops, Tim Evans, and Marc Grapey announce the inaugural season of Three Oaks Theater Festival, a new summer theater festival that will bring three limited-engagement runs of highly-acclaimed, professional Chicago-based productions and a World Premiere to audiences in Harbor Country, Michigan. Deadline reports that Jill Scott has joined the cast of the upcoming CBS drama pilot SECOND SIGHT. The project is from from Michael Cuesta and Carol Mendelsohn. The actress joins previously announced cast member Jason Lee.
