From David Simon (HBO's “Treme” and “The Wire”) and Paul Haggis (“Crash”), the HBO Miniseries presentation SHOW ME A HERO debuts its first two parts back-to-back SUNDAY, AUG. 16 (8:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), followed by two parts on both of the subsequent Sundays – Aug. 23 and 30 – at the same time.

The Bay Street Shakespeare Initiative and Hamptons Shakespeare Festival are proud to announce that Piper Perabo will star as Viola in their upcoming co-production of outdoor staged readings of TWELFTH NIGHT, OR WHAT YOU WILL by William Shakespeare on August 14 and 15 at Mashashimuet Park in Sag Harbor, NY. The two readings are free to the public and will start at 7 pm. A VIP Benefit performance will take place on August 16 at a private, oceanfront estate. Steppenwolf Theatre Company celebrates 40 years as America's longest running, most distinguished ensemble theater with a remarkable lineup of plays in the 2015/16 Subscription Season, all by Pulitzer Prize-winning writers. Kicking off the landmark season is John Steinbeck's East of Eden, a world premiere adaptation by Frank Galati. Steppenwolf's deep connection with the Pulitzer Prize-winning author can be traced back to the company's 1988 production of The Grapes of Wrath, which Galati adapted and directed. The production transferred to Broadway, California and London and received two Tony Awards-Best Play and Best Director-garnering Steppenwolf international acclaim.

Talk is both cheap and substantive at The Freeman Studio. The Tribeca-based acting studio led by Scott Freeman welcomes the super-busy Santino Fontana and Sarah Steele in its next "Actors Aloud" free panel discussion at on Wednesday June 3 at 6pm. The legendary Cherry Jones is The Freeman Studio's guest on Sunday June 21 at 5pm.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company completes its 2014/15 Subscription Season with the Chicago premiere production of Grand Concourse, a play full of both humor and heart by Heidi Schreck and directed by ensemble member Yasen Peyankov. Grand Concourse begins previews July 2, 2015 (Opening night is July 12, 2015; Press performances are July 11 at 3pm and July 14 at 7:30pm) and runs through August 30, 2015 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St).

Steppenwolf Theatre Company announced today the extension of The Herd, the debut play of Olivier Award-winning actor Rory Kinnear currently playing to critical acclaim in its U.S. premiere production in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre. In a four-star review, the Chicago Tribune raves, 'A family drama that sticks with you...this is Steppenwolf acting at its best' and The New York Times says, 'a buoyantly entertaining play [that] breathes with real, complicated life.' Directed by ensemble member and Tony Award-winning director Frank Galati, The Herd adds six additional performances, extending the run through June 14, 2015 with the original cast. Co-founders John Stoops and Tim Evans proudly announce the third season of the Three Oaks Theater Festival, an annual summer event that brings limited-engagement runs of highly- acclaimed, professional productions to audiences in Harbor Country, Michigan. Rattlestick Playwrights and LaiLou Productions have announced that the world premiere of Shesh Yak, written by Laith Nakli and directed by Bruce McCarty, will begin previews Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place, west of Seventh Avenue South. The official opening night is set for Thursday, January 29, 2015. The production will play through Sunday, February 22, 2015.

Sundance Institute announced today the films selected for the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions and the out-of-competition NEXT <=> section of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, January 22 to February 1 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. The Festival is the centerpiece of the year-round public programs for the Institute, which also hosts 24 residency labs and grants more than $2.5 million to independent artists each year.
