Producer Scott Siegel announced this morning that tickets will be go on sale today at noon via TicketMaster for the 9th Annual BROADWAY UNPLUGGED concert in which today's Broadway stars sing like the stars of yesteryear: without microphones! Unplugged! In this age of head-splitting, over-amplifcation the sound of the pure human voice soaring through the orchestra and then sailing up into the balcony of an acoustically pure concert hall is to hear Broadway show music at its most thrilling. This year's cast is headed by two of Broadway's most in-demand stars, CHEYENNE JACKSON and LAURA OSNES. They will lead a cast of upwards of twenty sensational singing stars on Monday, December 3rd at 8 PM at The Town Hall.
Jeff Goldblum stars in SEMINAR by Theresa Rebeck, directed by Sam Gold and produced by Jeffrey Finn, Jill Furman, John N. Featuring performances by Tony Award Winner Daisy Eagan (Broadway's Secret Garden, Les Miserables, TV's The It Factor), Tony Award Nominee Valarie Pettiford (Broadway's Fosse, TV's Half & Half, Film Jumping the Broom), Tom Lowe (TV's American Idol & Real Life: The Musical on OWN), Deborah S. Craig (Broadway's 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee & TV's Hart of Dixie), Julie Garnye (Broadway Cares' HAIR in Concert, Les Miserables), Stephanie Renee Wall (West Coast Ensemble's Gypsy), Sarah Wolter (Fred for Nothing), as well as additional performers TBA, will present an evening of songs made famous by Minnelli. James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim's FOLLIES closes tonight, June 9, at Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre after a critically acclaimed run. Nominated for eight Tony Awards, the show has been through quite the journey, beginning at Washington, D.C.'s Kennedy Center in May 2011, then making its transfer to Broadway's Marquis Theatre, where it opened in September of 2011 and ran through January 22, 2012, and finally traveling to L.A. for its May 9, 2012, opening.
