Deaf West Theatre, Ed Waterstreet, Artistic Director, has announced their next production, My Sister In This House by Wendy Kesselman. Directed by Michael Unger, My Sister In This House will begin previews on Saturday, April 10 and is set to open on Saturday, April 17 at 8pm. The engagement will run through Sunday, May 30.
Sony MASTERWORKS announces the signing of 4TROOPS. Their debut self-titled CD will be available on May 11th with a portion of the proceeds from the sales to benefit veteran-related organizations. Sony chose to release the album during Armed Forces Week (May 8-May 15) which honors Americans serving in all five services - Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard.
Film Independent, the non-profit arts organization that produces the Spirit Awards and the Los Angeles Film Festival, announced nominations this morning for the 25th Film Independent Spirit Awards. Nominees for Best Feature include (500) Days Of Summer, Amreeka, Precious, Sin Nombre and The Last Station. Taraji P. Henson and Matt Dillon also announced finalists for the Acura Someone to Watch Award, the Truer Than Fiction Award, and the Piaget Producers Award. A Serious Man was selected for the Robert Altman Award, which is given to one film's director, casting director and ensemble cast.

The awards will take place the night of March 5th at LA Live's event deck in Los Angeles. Film Independent said of the comedian, 'Izzard's tangential, absurd, bizarre, and surreal comic narratives are lauded for their creativity and wit, which suits the irreverent, laid-back style of the Spirit Awards.'

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) announced that it is the recipient of a re-granting award from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
