The Coal Mine to Present August Strindberg's CREDITORS

A modern melodrama of obsession, honour and revenge, CREDITORS is Strindberg's least produced play, but considered one of his most mature. With a new adaptation by Scottish playwright David Greig, CREDITORS was originally produced by Donmar Warehouse in London, 2008. The show, under the direction of Alan Rickman, transferred to New York in 2010 where Ben Brantley called it a 'thrilling new interpretation.'

2 PIANOS 4 HANDS to Play Rubicon, 10/15

Rubicon Theatre of Ventura opens the company's 17th Season (The Search…) with 2 Pianos 4 Hands, written by Ted Dykstra and Richard Greenblatt. Winner of the coveted Dora Award (the Canadian equivalent of the Tony), 2 Pianos 4 Hands is a musical comedy for anyone who has ever had a dream. Directed by Thomas Frey, this hilariously funny production features two actors, two pianos and multiple characters as fifteen years of piano playing unfolds in all its glory. Stories of crazy instructors, obsessed parents, torturous recitals, and other high points of musical training are accompanied by musical selections ranging from classical to pop to jazz. Along the way, these virtuoso actors/pianists portray a dazzling range of characters and display piano wizardry featuring the music of Beethoven, Bach, Elton John, Jerry Lee Lewis and others. 2 Pianos 4 Hands opens October 18 with low-priced previews October 15 - 17. Sutton Foster is coming BACK to Broadway, as Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced that it will present two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster in a Broadway production of VIOLET (first seen as part of Encores! Based on the short story 'The Ugliest Pilgrim' by Doris Betts, VIOLET features music by Jeanine Tesori and book & lyrics by Brian Crawley. City Theatre will present a brand new production of the smash comedy 2 Pianos 4 Hands, a melodic adventure featuring music ranging from Bach to Billy Joel and Elton John. Co-written by Ted Dykstra and Richard Greenblatt and directed by Tom Frey, 2 Pianos 4 Hands is a City Events special presentation that will run on City Theatre's Mainstage from November 30 to December 22, 2013, with an Opening Night performance on Friday, December 6 at 8pm.

Casts of EVANGELINE and DEAR JOHNNY DEERE Raise Over $7,000 for Actors' Fund of Canada

Cast members of The Charlottetown Festival's Evangeline and DEAR JOHNNY DEERE raised their voices in support of the Actors' Fund of Canada on August 29, 30 and 31 in Prince Edward Island and audience members responded by contributing an amazing $7,364 in support of the Canadian charity.

Starring Canadian darlings Chilina Kennedy and Adam Brazier, early buzz surrounding this production is incredibly promising.
