JAG Productions is pleased to announce JAGFest, an annual festival that showcases and celebrates new plays by emerging playwrights of color. Presented February 24 - 27 at various venues in Woodstock & Pomfret, VT, the weekend-long festival of play readings and lectures celebrates and explores diverse, new voices in American theater. JAGFest will include four staged readings over the course of four days, each featuring a post-show conversation with the playwrights, actors, and directors.

The 1 in 3 Campaign announced today the national tour of a groundbreaking new documentary play on abortion in the face of political attacks on access to safe, affordable abortion care. The play moves past the noise of the current political climate and features first-hand accounts from the people who receive and provide abortion care, even as access to abortion care comes under increasing threat.

The tour of 'Remarkably Normal' by Jessi Blue Gormezano, Abortion Stories from the 1 in 3 Campaign' directed by Marie Byrd Sproul includes performances in eight cities, including some of the states with the most restrictive laws or active fights to place greater restrictions on access to abortion care, including Texas, where a law that's forced many of the clinics to close is under consideration by the U.S. Supreme Court. The play is a clever, thoughtful and creative way to bring the reality of people's abortion experiences into the heightened and tense conversation around abortion.

Rising Sun to Present New Play Reading Series UNDER REHEARSED, 4/18

Rising Sun Performance Company announced last month that it is presenting a new short play reading series 'UNDER REHEARSED' and have partnered with The West Brooklyn as their venue. The Reading series is intended to create new artistic relationships with Guest Directors, Playwrights and Actors as well as provide a fun and engaging night for our audiences. The Series will of course also feature the critically acclaimed ensemble of Rising Sun. The Creative Team for each series will be announced a week prior to each series, and will be listed on RSP's Website, Facebook and via media outlets. The plays will be 10-15 minutes long, and each reading will have a short break in between to allow for conversation, libations and connection between the artists and audience.

If on a Winter's Night…, Everyday Inferno's inaugural winter production of one-act plays directed by women, will play a week-long engagement from December 5th through December 8th, 2013 at the Access Theatre Gallery (380 Broadway, NYC 10013). The three plays featured in the evening are Jen Tries Vacation - written by G.D. Kimble (LaBute New Theatre Festival) and directed by Ana?s Koivisto (Artistic Director, Everyday Inferno), People Will Talk About You Sometimes - written by Sarah Matusek and directed by Taylor Reynolds, and The Policy - written by A.C. DeLashmutt and directed by Katherine Sommer (Producing Director, Everyday Inferno).
