Acclaimed Off-Broadway theater company Playwrights Horizons has announced details for its 2015 special online Auction.  Bidding for the auction, which will feature an eclectic array of items and unique opportunities, begins today, Tuesday, May 5 at www.CharityBuzz.com/PlaywrightsHorizons. Online bidding will continue through Tuesday, May 19. 

BRIC is pleased to announce the lineup for its 37th annual Celebrate Brooklyn! Performing Arts Festival, which will comprise 29 performances, June 3 - August 12. The programming, reflective of Brooklyn's eclecticism and diversity, will feature a wide array of free, world-class performances in the singular environs of the Prospect Park Bandshell.

  Sundance Institute today announced the nine projects selected from 827 submissions for its 2015 Theatre Lab at Sundance Resort in Utah, July 6-26. Under the supervision of Artistic Director Philip Himberg and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the Lab is the centerpiece of the Institute's year-round work with the theatre community and is one of 24 residency Labs the Institute hosts each year for independent artists in theatre, film, new media and episodic content.

Manhattan Theatre Club's presentation of Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of Airline Highway, the new play by Pulitzer Prize finalist Lisa D'Amour (Detroit), directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello (Casa Valentina, Take Me Out), opens tonight, April 23 at MTC's Samuel J. Playwrights Horizons has announced casting for THE QUALMS, the New York premiere of a new play by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Bruce Norris (Clybourne Park and The Pain and the Itch at PH, Domesticated).  Directed by Tony and Obie Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Clybourne Park and Completeness at PH; Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?; this season's A Delicate Balance and the current The Heidi Chronicles), the play is the final production of the theater company's 2014/2015 Season.   

Dixon Place's new commission THE FLATIRON HEX, starring Award-winning puppeteer/performance & visual artist James Godwin, will have its world premiere on Friday, May 15th. Godwin's previous collaborations include Julie Taymor, David Bowie, the Muppets & even Aerosmith. A 2014 Jim Henson Award recipient, Godwin utilizes remarkable puppets, masks & mystical neo-noir visuals to tell a story set in a parallel, near-future NYC filled with ghosts, elemental spirits & evil demigods. THE FLATIRON HEX will play six performances only -- May 15th, 16th, 22th, 23th, 29th, and 30th at 7:30PM, at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street).

On Monday, April 20, 2015 at 7:30PM, Venezuelan singer, songwriter and storyteller Migguel Anggelo returns to Joe's Pub at The Public (425 Lafayette, NYC) to celebrate the release of his new album La Casa Azul (April 21) and debuting a brand new show, under the direction of Obie Award-winner David Drake. Park Avenue Armory announced today that it has appointed Meiyin Wang as Curator of its expanding Artist-in-Residence program-an initiative that supports the development of new, collaborative, and explorative works by artists creating at the intersection of different disciplines. Wang, renowned for her on-going work as Co-Director of The Public Theater's Under The Radar Festival and Director of the Devised Theater Initiative, has deep experience working with emerging and established artists. In this newly created position, Wang is responsible for the development of the Artist-in-Residence program in coordination with Armory President and Executive Producer, Rebecca Robertson, and oversees the Under Construction series, which showcases works developed during the residencies.

Playwrights Horizons presents the world premiere of PLACEBO, a new play by Obie Award winner Melissa James Gibson (This at PH, What Rhymes with America, Suitcase, [sic], the FX series 'The Americans,' 'House of Cards' on Netflix). Directed by three-time Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin (This at PH, The Fortress of Solitude, Bad Jews, 4000 Miles, [sic]), the play is the fourth production of the theater company's 2014/2015 Season.
