The show runs through January 31, 2016 (press opening Thursday January 14).

The Curran is proud to present Taylor Mac's A 24-Decade History of Popular Music: 1776 - 1836 as part of 'Curran: Under Construction,' the ground-breaking series of intimate and non-traditional programming curated by Carole Shorenstein Hays. The six-performance limited engagement will begin Thursday, January 21 at the Curran (445 Geary St). As recently announced, 'Curran: Under Construction' kicks-off a new era for the historic theatre, which is undergoing a major renovation and will reopen as a full-sized venue in early 2017. Throughout 'Curran: Under Construction,' audiences will enter through the Curran's stage door alleyway and be seated on stage alongside the action.

The Schlep Sisters & Thirsty Girl Present the 9th Annual MENORAH HORAH tonight, December 12th at The Hall at MP.

Since its founding in 1974 by Paul Zimet, Ellen Maddow and Tina Shepard-former members of Joseph Chaikin's seminal Open Theater-the Talking Band has remained a cornerstone of New York City's avant-garde theater community. American Theater magazine has deemed them 'one of the most exceptional theater companies in the country.' The Talking Band will present in association with La MaMa the world premiere of its latest work, Burnished by Grief, a sinister, music infused romantic comedy, at La MaMa'sfirst floor theater from January 22-February 7.

Due to critical acclaim and popular demand, Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced a third and final extension of their hit New York premiere production of HIR, a new play by Obie Award-winning theater artist Taylor Mac (A 24-Decade History of Popular Music, The Lily's Revenge, The Walk Across America for Mother Earth, The Be(a)st of Taylor Mac, The Young Ladies Of). Directed by theater director and performance artist Niegel Smith (Artistic Director of The Flea), HIR is the second production of the theater company's 2015/2016 Season.
