American Theater Company Announces 2016-17 Season

American Theater Company (ATC) proudly announces Season 32, led by its newly appointed Artistic Director Will Davis and continuing the theater's dedication to developing new works. The 2016-17 season kicks off this September with the world premiere of Dan Aibel's T., an exploration of the competitive ice skating saga between Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding, directed byMargot Bordelon, Sept. 23-Oct. 30, 2016. In the New Year, ATC presents Jaclyn Backhaus' Men On Boats, making its regional premiere at ATC Jan. 6-Feb. 12, 2017, under Will Davis' direction after he remounts his acclaimed New York production Off Broadway at Playwrights Horizons this summer. Next spring brings another world premiere at ATC, Basil Kreimendahl's We're Gonna Be Okay, March 17-April 23, 2017. The production is directed by Bonnie Metzgar and was originally developed at ATC in collaboration with The Araca Group during AracaWorks: Chicago 2015. The final production of ATC's 2016-17 Season is a reimagined classic, Pulitzer Prize winner Picnic by William Inge, under Davis' direction May 19-June 25, 2017. Kim Davies' STET to Open Off-Broadway at Abingdon Theatre Company in June

Abingdon Theatre Company, in association with The Muse Project, will present STET, a new play inspired by true events, written by Kim Davies and developed by Kim Davies, Jocelyn Kuritsky and Artistic Director Tony Speciale. A limited Off-Broadway engagement will begin previews on June 11, as part of Abingdon's 2015-2016 Season, with an official press opening scheduled for June 23. Tickets are now on sale through July 3. Tony Speciale is set to direct the world-premiere production, which marks his inaugural programming as Artistic Director.

Joyce Unleased to Showcase Works of Three Choreographers

The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc., moves beyond its historic Chelsea home to present groundbreaking performances in intimate spaces through Joyce Unleashed, a series of experimental work presented off-site. One of Finland's most talented young choreographers, Elina Pirinen will make her U.S. debut with her award-winning trio, Personal Symphonic Moment, performed at New York Live Arts (May 31-June 1). Brooklyn-based artist Anna Sperber's latest creation, Prize, will also be performed at New York Live Arts (June 3 & 4). Performance-based artist Vanessa Anspaugh will present The End of Men; An Ode to Ocean at Abrons Arts Center (June 8-11). Both Pirinen and Anspaugh are making their Joyce debut.

Broadway's master songman, Mandy Patinkin, accompanied by Adam Ben-David on piano, will bring his critically acclaimed theatre concert, MANDY PATINKIN in Concert, Dress Casual, to the Ed Mirvish Theatre for two performances only on June 15 and 16, 2016, at 8 PM. Tickets go on sale to Mirvish subscribers today, Monday, April 18, to American Express cardmembers on Wednesday, April 20 and to the general public on Tuesday, April 26. Mandy Patinkin has been fortunate to carve out a varied career including theatre, the concert stage, film, television, and as a recording artist.
