Vineyard Theatre's 2015-2016 season began Wednesday, November 11 at 8pm when the new musical comedy GIGANTIC began previews at The Acorn Theatre @ Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street), where it plays through December 20. Today's the day! And a huge one it is for the company of NBC's THE WIZ LIVE! The Long Island soundstage that the cast and crew have been calling home for the past month will be bustling today as finishing touches are placed on the star-studded production. Theatre fans know that this won't be the first time that NBC has pulled off such a massive undertaking. 9.21 million people tuned in for last year's PETER PAN LIVE!, while THE SOUND OF MUSIC, presented in 2013, yielded a whopping 18.62 million live viewers- an unprecedented ratings boom for the network. Few can understand the pressure that comes with this kind of attention, but the casts of THE SOUND OF MUSIC LIVE! and PETER PAN LIVE! have been through all of it before. It's Saturday, and that means it's time for what has become one of the theatre community's most beloved traditions- BroadwayWorld's 'Saturday Intermission Pics' roundup!

As BWW previously reported, a new MAGIC MIKE stage musical is currently in the works from Tom Kitt, Brian Yorkey and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Now, HAMILTON's Jon Rua has posted a photo on Instagram from a recent reading for the show, and it looks like his HAMILTON co-star Chris Jackson was also involved. No word on what this means for MAGIC MIKE's Broadway and/or Las Vegas plans, but BroadwayWorld will keep our ears to the ground. In the meantime, check out the behind-the-scenes photo below!

MARY-KATE and the SEVEN, based loosely on the story of Snow White and her 7 dwarfs, looks at the ever widening gulf between the 'haves' and the 'have nots' in modern day America and the extremes of celebrity. One of the Olsen twins is hungry for fame while the other is just hungry... for a cookie. When the 7 men find the aforementioned Olsen twin in their dumpster, is she perhaps their ticket out of the hellish life they are living? Could they, should they, ransom her? And if they do, will her sister want her back or is she more valuable in terms of celebrity if she is missing or better yet, dead? How much do we really need to be happy?
