Inaugural Rogue Lab Reading Series Showcases Seven New Plays by LA Playwrights

Award-winning artists' collective Rogue Artists Ensemble is thrilled to announce the Inaugural Rogue Lab Readings Series, a four-day event that includes readings of seven new works written, directed, and designed by emerging LA artists, as well as post-show discussions and receptions. The reading series will feature new plays by 2018-2019 Rogue Lab playwrights Lisa Sanaye Dring, Eric Fagundes, John Guerra, Mildred Inez Lewis, Chelsea Sutton, and Jennie Webb, and a special new play presentation by writing team Taylor Coffman and Z. Lupetin.

Rogue Artists Ensemble has been performing its FREE summer family show HYPERBOLE: bard around the city over the last few weeks, offering performances at Carlson Park in Culver City, the Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica, and Grand Park in Downtown Los Angeles. I caught their show this afternoon in West Hollywood Park, which will be the company's final location for the season. One last performance takes place tomorrow, Sunday July 28, in West Hollywood Park at 4:00 pm.

A uniquely theatrical event that melds puppetry, live actors, original music and video, D is for Dog will open as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival tonight, June 8 and continue to run at the Hudson Mainstage through August 4. (Please note: PG-13 for thematic material - not suitable for young children.)

Katie Polebaum has created an original piece of theatre that cleverly mixes the innocence of the past with the horrors of the future in D is for Dog now playing at Studio/Stage in Hollywood. What is most intriguing about Dog is its employment of video and puppetry along with the six actors in telling the bizarre sci-fi story.
