On Monday evening, June 6, THE INTERFAITH CENTER OF NEW YORK will continue its annual tradition of honoring individuals at The Center's Ninth Annual JAMES PARKS MORTON INTERFAITH AWARDS DINNER.
Cornelius Bates is a versatile performer in music, stage, and television. On stage he has performed in everything from musicals to the works of Shakespeare. He made his television debut as Chuck Berry in the miniseries 'Shake, Rattle and Roll.' He appeared as the guest vocalist with the renowned dance company Step Afrika at the Kennedy Center. He has been a guest in the 'Late Night Groove' series at the Blue Note and with the popular Brazilian band The Nanny Assis Group at S.O.B.'s. As a finalist in the Metropolitan Room 2009 MetroStar Talent Challenge, Cornelius offered rich interpretations of the Brazilian song book.
