Enjoy an indoor Shakespeare festival with air conditioning! 

Performance Space 122 presents the world premiere of Emily Johnson/Catalyst's large-scale performance gathering Then a Cunning Voice and A Night We Spend Gazing at Stars.

This Is Not Normal is an arts festival at The Brick. Replete with plays, puppetry and performance works, as well as weekly cabarets and calls to action, the festival aims to remind us of the reality we live in and the reality we are moving towards.

'Faust 3: The Turd Coming, or The Fart of the Deal' by Paul David Young, a political satire of the Trump fiasco performed by an ensemble of four clowns, will have its world premiere June 11 to 26 in The Meeting Room of Judson Memorial Church, 55 Washington Square South, presented by Skylight Productions.  Augustus Heagerty directs.

A friendly reminder! Theatre for a New Audience presents the Yale Repertory Theatre production of Samuel Beckett's masterpiece Happy Days, beginning this Sunday, April 23. Two-time Academy Award-winner Dianne Wiest (Hannah and Her Sisters, Bullets over Broadway) plays Winnie, widely considered modern drama's pinnacle female role, alongside Jarlath Conroy, who plays Willie, directed by Yale Repertory Theatre Artistic Director James Bundy.

Hosted by actress Gloria Reuben and actor, director and writer Tim Blake Nelson, Soho Rep.'s Spring 2017 Gala will honor director Leah C. Gardiner (generations, born bad), playwright Melissa James Gibson ([sic], House of Cards) and scenic designer Louisa Thomspon, (Washeteria, Blasted), who have each been at the heart of some of the most memorable productions in the company's 42-year history and whose pioneering work for Soho Rep. has brought critical acclaim, both to the theater and to their own work.

The Brick Theater presents the world premiere of PLUTO (no longer a play), the latest from New York-based collective Superhero Clubhouse and the final installment of their Planet Plays series.

Remission, a new musical about vulnerability and hope, announces presentations open to industry professionals on March 31st. The presentations will be directed by Portia Krieger, with books/music/lyrics by Rebekah M. Allen, and casting by Tara Rubin Casting.

The Tank will present the world premiere of T.B. SHEETS written by Adam R. Burnett and directed by lisa nevada & Adam R. Burnett.

This year's Rough Draft Festival at LaGuardia Performing Arts features six new plays that are in the pre-production stage of development. Each of the plays has gone through readings and workshops in the past and the writers Melis Aker, Scott Barrow, Leila Buck, Kevin Doyle, Joey Merlo, Kyoung Park and their plays are ready for the next step.

Ultimately, their struggle to insert a piece of themselves into Shakespeare's masterpiece becomes the story of How to Hamlet, or Hamleting Hamlet, a non-linear, experimental and meta-theatrical meditation of the Bard's most famous work by Theater Reconstruction Ensemble.

The Brick Theater, Inc. & Obvious Volcano Productions presents THREE SISTERS, written by Anton Chekhov, translated by Paul Schimdt, and directed by Maggie Cino, from March 23 to April 1, 2017.

As the centerpiece of the Company's 25th anniversary season, Target Margin Theater and Abrons Arts Center will present a rare revival of Eugene O'Neill's great trilogy, Mourning Becomes Electra, directed by Herskovits, and running April 26-May 20. Part Greek tragedy, part family play, part history play, Mourning Becomes Electra (O'Neill's 1931 adaptation of Aeschylus 'The Oresteia') mashes myth, Freudian psychology and melodrama into an epic six hour production.

The inaugural cohort of The Field Leadership Fund announces Moon Shine, a wine reception with pop-up expressions, to be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the National Black Theatre (NBT) in its current 48th season themed In Pursuit of Black Joy.

Abrons Arts Center presents the world premiere of The Terrifying by Obie award-winning playwright Julia Jarcho, who also directs. Running March 12-April 2, The Terrifying is performed by Jess Barbagallo, Kim Gainer, Kristine Haruna Lee, Hanna Novak, and Pete Simpson for an audience of 60 who are seated onstage at the Playhouse, close enough to hear a faint whisper. An immersive, live sound design by Obie-winner Ben Williams adds tension to the rich and intimate experience.

Every night the maids stage a fantasized revolution against their mistress Madame. Every night they fail miserably. But last night they have taken a step into reality. They have plotted against Monsieur and have gotten him arrested by the police. Family and class wars unfold.
