Spelman College and True Colors Theatre Company have announced a conversation with Tony Award-winning Director Kenny Leon the evening of September 8, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. in the Baldwin Burroughs Theater at Spelman College.

The American Theatre Wing has announced that its annual Gala, to be held on Monday, September 26, 2016 at The Plaza Hotel (Fifth Avenue at Central Park South), will honor legendary Tony Award-winning actress Cicely Tyson.

The creation of this favorite New York cultural institution was once a controversial legal issue.

Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, The Public's Free Shakespeare in the Park all-female production of THE TAMING OF THE SHREW began performances on May 24 and is part of the global 400th anniversary celebration of William Shakespeare's life and death. NBC just announced an all-star team of Broadway's finest creatives -- featuring familiar faces Kenny Leon, Jerry Mitchell and Harvey Fierstein -- for its upcoming production of HAIRSPRAY LIVE, the network's latest stage musical following the phenomenal success of THE WIZ LIVE. The telecast will air Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The cast for HAIRSPRAY LIVE will be announced at a later date, but based on this news, BWW can't wait to see what NBC has in store!

Taking place tonight, January 25th, 2016, The Arthur Miller Foundation's ONE NIGHT 100 YEARS event honoring legendary playwright Arthur Miller will feature actors reading from Miller's autobiography and unpublished works, as well as scenes from his classic plays Death of a Salesman, The Price, All My Sons, and more.

The one-night-only Broadway benefit performance will feature readings from Miller's seminal plays and personal works.

On Monday, January 25 (8PM), the Arthur Miller Foundation will present "Arthur Miller Centenary Reading on Broadway". To celebrate the legacy of Arthur Miller and support the Arthur Miller Foundation for Theater and Film Education in New York City public schools, please join us for a one-night-only Broadway benefit performance, featuring readings from Miller's seminal plays and personal works.  According to Variety, the line-up of performers will include:  Alec Baldwin, Ellen Barkin, Laurence Fishburne, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Tony Kushner and Sam Shepard.
