Bank of America will sponsor seven New Jersey Symphony Orchestra concerts in the 2016-17 season, including Xian Zhang's October 29 debut as NJSO Music Director in New Brunswick, as well as the Orchestra's final two performances of the season, June 10-11. The seven performances, all under Zhang's baton, span concerts at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, State Theatre New Jersey in New Brunswick and Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank.

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra presents Russian poetry readings following October 29-30 performances of the all-Tchaikovsky concert program that marks Xian Zhang's debut as NJSO Music Director. Victoria Juharyan-who earned audience raves for post-concert Russian poetry readings in 2015-returns to read poems by Tchaikovsky's favorite poet, Alexander Pushkin, and more, in the original Russian. Attendees will also hear the poems in English translation at these NJSO Accent events, which are free to concert ticketholders.

On November 17 at 8PM, internationally acclaimed Chinese pianist Warren Lee makes his DCINY Artist Series debut at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall with a solo piano recital featuring the music of Bach-Busoni, Tan Dun, Beethoven, Chopin and Lee himself.

Washington National Opera (WNO) today announced full programming details for the fifth season of the American Opera Initiative, its comprehensive commissioning program that brings contemporary American stories to the stage while fostering the talents of rising American composers and librettists. For the first time, all of the program's world premiere operas will be presented during an American Opera Initiative Festival weekend, January 13-15, 2017 in the Kennedy Center Family Theater.

In what is set to be a major artistic highlight of the 2016 season, Sydney Symphony Orchestra Chief Conductor and Artistic Director David Robertson will conduct three great ballet scores Stravinsky composed for the world-famous Ballets Russes at the beginning of the 20th century. This will be a rare opportunity to hear three ballets: The Firebird, The Rite of Spring and Petrushka - performed by the SSO at the Sydney Opera House across two weeks this August.
