For the better part of a decade founder, curator and host soprano Allison Charney has presented one of NYC's most compelling concert series in collaboration with the JCC Manhattan's Lambert Center for Arts + Ideas in New York's Upper West Side.  Billed as "presenting celebrated classical musicians just before they take on the worlds' most prestigious stages" "PREformances with Allison Charney" does just that.

Internationally renowned conductor Xian Zhang makes her debut as the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra's 14th Music Director at venues throughout the state across two weekends, October 27-November 6 in Newark, Princeton, New Brunswick, Morristown and Englewood. The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra hosts its first College Night of the 2016-17 season on opening weekend, Saturday, September 24, at the State Theatre in New Brunswick. A special $10 student ticket includes entrance to the Orchestra's 8 pmperformance featuring virtuoso violinist Sarah Chang, as well as a post-concert all-student party with light refreshments and live entertainment.

The critically acclaimed Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company will perform Song of the Phoenix at Bailey Hall at Broward College in Davie, Florida, on September 24, 2016 at 7:30pm, with a master class and special performance for students on campus on Friday, September 23, 2016.

Washington National Opera (WNO) today announced full programming details for the fifth season of the American Opera Initiative, its comprehensive commissioning program that brings contemporary American stories to the stage while fostering the talents of rising American composers and librettists. For the first time, all of the program's world premiere operas will be presented during an American Opera Initiative Festival weekend, January 13-15, 2017 in the Kennedy Center Family Theater.

This will be a rare opportunity to hear three ballets: The Firebird, The Rite of Spring and Petrushka - performed by the SSO at the Sydney Opera House across two weeks this August.

The New York Choral Society will present Handel's biblical oratorio Israel in Egypt under the baton of Music Director David Hayes, today evening, May 10th, 2016, 8pm at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium. Composed entirely from selected passages from the Bible's Old Testament, Israel in Egypt relates the harshness of the Israelites' captivity in Egypt and their subsequent triumphant escape from the Pharaoh's oppressive regime. Israel in Egypt is atypical in Handel's choral output, as it contains little solo material and is dominated by large-scale virtuosic choruses that exhibit Handel's mastery as a musical storyteller.

The Massapequa Philharmonic, under the direction of David Bernard, will complete its 2015-2016 season with a concert featuring spectacular Russian music including Borodin's Polovtsian Dances, Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 1, and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5.
