Transport Group, the Drama Desk and OBIE award-winning theatre company, launched its spring 2012 online auction earlier this week.

The Weathervane Theatre Alumni Association will present an evening of songs and stories entitled Raise the Roof! Recover, Rebuild, Rejoice! at Joe's Pub on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 9:30pm.

So this is what happens when everything goes right in a production. Creative set/lighting/sound/costume design + talented ensemble + fierce vocals and choreography = check mate and game won!

The Arvada Center will open the regional premiere of a new restaging of Chess, A Musical directed by Rod A. Lansberry on March 27 running through April 15, 2012 in the Main Stage Theater. Performances are Tuesday - Saturday at 7:30 pm, Wednesday at 1pm, Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Preview performances are March 23 - 25. Moderated talkbacks with the cast are offered on Friday, April 6 after 7:30 p.m. show and Wednesday, April 11 after 1:00 p.m. show. Ticket prices range from $35 (previews) - $72. I CAN'T WAIT: THE SONGS OF PATRICK DWYER, a new revue of songs by the theatre/cabaret songwriter, will be presented at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre, 61 Christopher Street at 7th Avenue, on Saturday February 25 at 4:30pm and Monday February 27 at 7pm. The hour-long show will feature the vocal talents of Teal Wicks, Robb Sapp and Tally Sessions.

Yank!, which played the York Theatre Off Broadway in the 2009-2010 season and previously announced a Broadway transfer for 2010-11, has now set its sights on a 2012-13 debut.

Transport Group, the Drama Desk and OBIE award-winning theatre company, has announced that the world premiere of Queen of the Mist, words and music by five-time Tony Award nominee Michael John LaChiusa, directed by four-time Drama Desk Award nominee Jack Cummings III, will play a two-week extension through Sunday, December 4 at The Gym at Judson Memorial Church, 243 Thompson Street at Washington Square South. The musical was originally scheduled to close Sunday, November 20.

After debuting on Broadway in an all-time classic, the musical star has done three world premieres.

Based on an astounding, outrageous, and haunting true story, two-time Tony nominee Mary Testa (Guys and Dolls, Xanadu, 42nd Street) stars as Anna Edson Taylor, who, in 1901, set out to be the first woman to shoot Niagara Falls, in a barrel of her own design.
