Transport Group, the Drama Desk and OBIE award-winning theatre company, launched its spring 2012 online auction earlier this week.

The Weathervane Theatre Alumni Association will present an evening of songs and stories entitled Raise the Roof! Recover, Rebuild, Rejoice! at Joe's Pub on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 9:30pm.

So this is what happens when everything goes right in a production. Creative set/lighting/sound/costume design + talented ensemble + fierce vocals and choreography = check mate and game won!

The Arvada Center will open the regional premiere of a new restaging of Chess, A Musical directed by Rod A. Lansberry on March 27 running through April 15, 2012 in the Main Stage Theater. Performances are Tuesday - Saturday at 7:30 pm, Wednesday at 1pm, Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Preview performances are March 23 - 25. Moderated talkbacks with the cast are offered on Friday, April 6 after 7:30 p.m. show and Wednesday, April 11 after 1:00 p.m. show. Ticket prices range from $35 (previews) - $72. The musical was originally scheduled to close Sunday, November 20.

Transport Group's Queen of the Mist is a world premiere musical with words and music by 5-time Tony nominee Michael John LaChiusa (The Wild Party, Marie Christine, Hello Again). Based on an astounding, outrageous, and haunting true story, two-time Tony nominee Mary Testa (Guys and Dolls, Xanadu, 42nd Street) stars as Anna Edson Taylor, who, in 1901, set out to be the first woman to shoot Niagara Falls, in a barrel of her own design.
