BWW Review: ANNA X, Harold Pinter Theatre

What sells better than sex? In Anna X, the answer is clear: exclusivity. Inspired by the true story of the socialite scammer Anna Sorokin, Joseph Charlton’s play marks the conclusion of Sonia Friedman’s Re:Emerge season at the Harold Pinter Theatre with a boy-meets-girl tale on steroids. In Daniel Raggett’s hip, snappy staging, Emma Corrin and Nabhaan Rizwan — breakout stars of the TV hits The Crown and Industry, respectively — weave a contemporary romance of false façades and murky motives.

BWW Review: GREY ROCK at The Kennedy Center

Grey Rock, written and directed by Amir Nizar Zuabi and commissioned and produced by Alexandra Aron from the Remote Theater Project, is a masterful reflection of an ordinary, modern-day man in an dilapidated Palestinian village, who has high ambitions to build a rocket, reach the moon, and more importantly, exercise his birthright to dream, create, advance, and launch free from the shackles of oppression.

BWW Review: GREY ROCK soars at Guthrie Theater

The goal of the Dowling Studio at the Guthrie Theater is to present groundbreaking theater that asks thought-provoking questions, inspires dialogue, and expands the diversity of voices on its stages: Grey Rock does exactly all of these things. Grey Rock, at its core, tells the story of an ordinary Palestinian man who's fascinated with America's moon landing. By the end of the play, it's so much more than that. Grey Rock forces its audience to face the big questions and leaves them enamored with the hope of its characters.

BWW Review: MY BRILLIANT FRIEND, National Theatre

At the beginning of My Brilliant Friend, all there is on stage is a desk, a chair and a laptop. For the Olivier stage (and the for the National Theatre in general), it's noticeably, surprisingly bare, but one thing is clear: a story is about to be told.

BWW Review: GREY ROCK at The Coopers Malthouse, Merlyn Theatre

By Josh StentGrey Rock invites Australian audiences to discover how a Palestinian man's dream to build and launch a rocket to the moon from his small village in the West Bank affects his family and community.
