MET Sets 2014-15 Mainstage Season: CLYBOURNE PARK, THE ELEPHANT MAN & More

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) is proud to announce its 2014-2015 Mainstage season. MET's seventeenth mainstage season will run from September of 2014 through June of 2015 and will feature a classic Shakespeare comedy, a German masterpiece, a World Premiere original, and contemporary crowd pleasers. Season subscriptions are on sale now at a special early bird rate. MET Artistic Director Tad Janes shared his excitement about all the plays, 'This season brings such great plays to the MET! Two very exciting newer plays, Clybourne Park and Good People, both have a great sense of humor, but also have a real depth of message. The Arsonists is a very funny, bordering on absurd, comedy, and we feature two excellent timeless pieces with The Elephant Man and Twelfth Night. Next season also brings a new MET created piece, brought to us by MET Mainstage writing alumni Reiner Prochaska.'

MET to Present 'THE VIBRATOR PLAY,' 5/30-6/22

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) will present a 2010 Pulitzer Prize finalist and a 2010 Tony Nominee for Best Play, In The Next Room or The Vibrator Play by Sarah Ruhl. The smart, touching, and hilarious period play will be directed by MET Associate Artistic Director, Julie Herber. In The Next Room will run every Thursday through Sunday at Maryland Ensemble Theatre from May 30 through June 22, 2014.

MET Presents TRUTHPASTE: A BLOTTO BIOGRAPHY Tonight

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) will present the original one man show TruthPaste: A Blotto Biography. The show, created by and starring MET Artistic Director Tad Janes, made its World Premiere at MET last March to high praise. In DC Metro Arts' five star review Mike Spain wrote, 'Truthpaste: A Blotto Biography is a fun and crazy, high-energy, quick-changing, real, honest, extremely funny, and one heck of a roller coaster ride. You'll have a great time!'. On bringing the show back Janes said, 'I got such a great response the first time, and have had people say they wanted to see it again or people who didn't get the chance to see it in the first place; so, why not bring it back?'.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre Holds Bowl-A-Thon to Raise Funds for New Venue Today

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET), Frederick's largest producing non-profit theatre will be holding a Bowl-A-Thon at Terrace Lanes today, April 26 to benefit their ongoing Capital Campaign to raise funds for a second performance venue. The Bowl-A-Thon will provide a fun activity for the whole family to participate in that will help the MET better serve its students and patrons. MET will cover the costs of all the bowling, food and drinks and is looking forward to enjoyable afternoon at the lanes that will include prizes for the top earners.

They are always funny, quirky, and have interesting themes and characters. Maryland Ensemble Theatre Opens WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? Tonight

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) is proud to present Edward Albee's Tony Award winning masterpiece, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? The hilariously dark martial war of words will run every Thursday through Sunday at Maryland Ensemble Theatre from tonight, February 14 through March 9.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL Returns For 20th Year at Maryland Ensemble Theatre, 12/20-22

Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol is returning to Frederick for the twentieth straight year with Maryland Ensemble Theatre's production December 20 through 22 at the Weinberg Center for the Arts. The cast of over two dozen actors portraying the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future will transport audiences to Victorian England as the penny-pinching Ebenezer Scrooge learns the error of his miserly ways and embraces the true spirit of Christmas. 'We really do feel like it's a holiday gift we can give to our community,' said the show's director Julie Herber. 'The spirit of the show is infectious, the energy we feel greeting the audience after the show is always so cheerful and heartwarming.'

A CHRISTMAS CAROL Returns to Frederick for 20th Year with Maryland Ensemble Theatre

The show will run December 20 and 21 at 7:30pm and December 21 and 22 at 2pm at the Weinberg Center for Arts (20 West Patrick Street, Frederick). Tickets are $12 through $24 and can be purchased at the Weinberg Box Office, at 301-600-2828 or online at weinbergcenter.org. The show will also be presented prior to the Weinberg performances at the Carroll County Arts Center the weekend of December 14 (carrollcountyartscouncil.org).
