Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET), Frederick's largest producing non-profit theatre is launching a Capital Campaign to raise funds for an additional performance space and alterations of its existing space.
The Comedy Pigs, Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) hilarious sketch and improv group, will celebrate 20 years of laughter with shows on August 23 and 24 at 8pm.

Phoenix Rising unveiled a new mural for the MET lobby, a lobby that is now also adorned with the work of over a dozen of local artists. Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) has announced its 2013-2014 mainstage season. MET's sixteenth mainstage season will run from September of 2013 through June of 2014 and will feature a British comic classic, an American masterpiece and several contemporary crowd pleasers. MET Artistic Director Tad Janes believes that each of the six mainstage shows in MET's upcoming season will help, 'build on the strong reputation we have earned over the past decade and a half as a destination for challenging, entertaining, professional theater.'

In the summer of 1997 a show called Finally Heard: Feminine Heroes of an Uncivil War made its world premiere in Frederick. The show also marked the debut of the company producing the play, Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET). The show was produced at both Frederick Community College and HOOD College.
The Comedy Pigs, Maryland Ensemble Theatre's sketch and improv troupe, have added a show to their schedule. The new show will follow Truthpaste: A Blotto Biography, MET's Artistic Director's Tad Janes' one-man show on March 16. The 8pm performance of Truthpaste will be followed by a 10pm Comedy Pigs improv show. The Comedy Pigs are in the midst of celebrating their 20th Anniversary Season. This will be troupe members Carly Ball, Gary Baker, Courtney McLaughlin, Chris 'C-Mo' Molloy, Anne Raugh, Franky Russell, Jeff Schnorr, Laura Stark and Julie Williams only performance in March.
