Jacob's Pillow announces today that Executive Director Ella Baff will soon present the fourth annual Jacob's Pillow Dance Award to Bill T. Jones, acclaimed choreographer, co-founder, and artistic director of Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, Tony Award winner for Spring Awakening, and director of the current Broadway hit FELA! The Jacob's Pillow Dance Award honors outstanding visionary artists and carries a prize of $25,000, one of the largest cash awards in the dance industry, to be used by the choreographer to enhance their artistry in any way they choose.

Positive Motions Foundation in association with the Glendale Philharmonic Association and Positive Motions Concert Series, Ruslan Biryukov, Producer and Artistic Director, will present 'FOR ALL OUR MOTHERS,' a concert in honor of Mother's Day, to be presented on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Glendale; 209 N. Broadway's most talked about new musical and the biggest Tony Award®-winner in years, Spring Awakening, is coming to Detroit's Fisher Theatre April 20 - May 9, 2010.

The National Theatre will be bringing Broadway's Fela! to London's Olivier Theatre for a November 6 premiere. The show will be joined by Michael Grandage's Danton's Death and new plays by Moira Buffini and Mike Bartlett. Also announced by the National, Desmond Barrit and Malcom Sinclair will be joining the cast of The Habit of the Art beginning July 14.

Weekend Movie Box Office Update: April 9 - April 11, 2010

Aaron Louis (Producing Director, 3LD Art & Technology Center) in association with New Georges and The Essentials, will present the world premiere of THE DIARY OF A TEENAGE GIRL, written by Marielle Heller, adapted from the hit graphic novel of the same name by Phoebe Gloeckner, and directed by Sarah Cameron Sunde and Rachel Eckerling in a multi-media production. Performances began on Sunday, March 15 3LD Art & Technology Center, 80 Greenwich Street (just south of Rector Street). The production will end its run Monday, April 12.)

Haitian-American violinist/composer Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) continues to establish himself as one of today's most relevant artists on the contemporary classical music scene. An innovative violinist, composer, performer, re-mixer, and band leader, DBR has won world-wide acclaim for his eclecticism and fearless exploration, whether through extended violin techniques, the infusion of electronics, or in his perspectives on the definition of chamber music. Daniel's new album 'Woodbox Beats & Balladry' will be available March 30th on Thirsty Ear Recordings.

Following Sunday night's Olivier Awards, a rush of Tweets wondered if Spring Awakening might be revived due to its success. Its two Welsh leads, Aneurin Barnard and Iwan Rheon, received a double win as Best Actor in a Musical and Best Supporting Performance in a Musical respectively. While the show recieved penty of critical plaudits, the musical failed to survive longer than five weeks in the West End after its transfer from its sold-out Lyric Hammersmith run. Could a West End revival really be in the works, or is this just wishful thinking?
