The National Basketball Association (NBA) has announced that Oscar-nominated musician Pharrell Williams, coming off of his multi-Grammy Award-winning night, will headline the 'Entertainment Series presented by Sean John at Macy's' during the 63rd NBA All-Star Game

This year is the 62nd annual Festival. In 2013 Festival shows sold more than $5 million worth of tickets, with attendances of over 500,000 from a city of under 2 million people: we sell more tickets per capita than any international arts festival in Australia.

New York Live Arts has announced an array of winter and spring events for the Suitcase Fund, Live Arts' signature international artist and cultural exchange program. Events include Research Presentations by Serbian artists Saša Asenti?& Ana Vujanovi?, as well as Marijana Cvetkovi? Markovi? and Miki Braniste; and a two week research residency by South African choreographers Thabiso Pule & Thami Hector Manekhla, in partnership with Movement Research.

Pam Tanowitz Dance makes its long awaited Joyce Theater debut from tonight, February 4 - 6. Presented by The Joyce Theater Foundation, this engagement will include a program of two new works by Tanowitz, a choreographer known for creating work that juxtaposes ballet with classic modern dance. The pieces, both world premieres, will feature live accompaniment.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, beloved as one of the world's most popular dance companies, will travel coast to coast beginning in February on a 23-city North American tour hitting major markets such as Atlanta, Miami, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Chicago (full schedule below). The 25th season since the passing of legendary founder Alvin Ailey is led by Artistic Director Robert Battle who continues to expand the Company's diverse repertory with a wide range of important choreographic voices. Exciting premieres and new productions give Ailey's 30 extraordinary dancers even more ways to inspire audiences. Genre-defying singing sensation Bilal performs an intimate concert at the Harlem Stage Gatehouse on February 21, backed by musical powerhouse the Revive Big Band. Fans of the eclectic, Grammy-nominated artist - known for solo hits "Soul Sista" and "Fast Lane," and for collaborations with The Roots, Erykah Badu, Beyonce and Common - will see a different side of the singer at this performance. Bilal constantly pushes the boundaries of music with a repertoire that spans soul, jazz, hip hop, rock, blues, electronic and more; this show highlights his classical musical training and deep connection to diverse music, with big-band-style arrangements of his hits alongside imaginative covers and rarely heard tunes.

New York Live Arts will present the Studio Series showing of Sam Kim's Sister to a Fiend tonight, January 31 and Saturday, February 1 at 6:00pm in the third floor studios at New York Live Arts.

New York Live Arts presents the U.S. premiere of Kimberly Bartosik/daela's You are my heat and glare, February 26 - March 1 at 7:30pm in the third floor studios at New York Live Arts. Hailed by Dance Magazine as "one of the most intriguing descendants of Merce Cunningham," New York Dance and Performance "Bessie" Award-winning Bartosik, along with six other award-winning performers, take to the stage in this multi-disciplinary production created especially for the New York Live Arts studios.

New York Live Arts will present the world premieres of niv Acosta's i shot denzel and Tess Dworman's macromen during a shared evening of new work, today, January 30 - February 1, 2014, at 7:30pm.

Coming up on Friday, February 28 at 9:00PM EST, PBS will present the national, TV broadcast premiere of Jazz and the Philharmonic, a co-production by the National YoungArts Foundation-a national organization that identifies and supports the next generation of artists-the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, and JAZZ ROOTS Producer Larry Rosen. Jazz and the Philharmonic was presented and filmed at the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center on January 11, 2013 and is a unique and wholly American concert experience which highlights two of the greatest musical art forms, classical and jazz. The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, presents the fourth annual Winning Works: Choreographers of Color Award, featuring three World Premieres by rising-star choreographers Justin Allen, Stephanie Batten Bland and Norbert De La Cruz III. The three World Premieres, along with Academy Co-Artistic Director Alexei Kremnev's restaging of Le Roi S'Amuse, are performed by the international members of the Joffrey Academy Trainee Program at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 East Randolph Drive, one night only, Saturday, March 1 at 7:00 pm.

New York Live Arts presents the U.S. premiere of Ana Vujanovi and Saša Asenti's On Trial Together, February 20 - 22 at 7:30pm in the New York Live Arts Theater. Called "deeply intelligent" by the Exberliner, the work is a hybrid performance of theater, choreography and social experiment, creating a unique experience exclusive to each evening.

New York Live Arts presents the world premiere of Elena Demyanenko and Dai Jian's Blue Room, February 13 - 15 at 7:30pm in the New York Live Arts Theater. Also on the bill will be the world premiere of Raw Nerves, a solo by Demyanenko in collaboration with performer Leah Morrison, and Deja Ve - As a solo, a work by Dai Jian featuring Jian and dancer Austin Selden.

James Kudelka, Resident Choreographer at Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie, creates a work exclusively for the puppet Malcolm in this personal full-length 'duet' with himself as performer. Malcolm premieres at the intimate Mimi Herrndorf Studio Theatre at The Citadel from February 19-23.

Green Space presents Take Root with The Moving Architects and Yael Nachajon today and tomorrow, January 24 & 25 and Fertile Ground New Works on January 26, 2014.

Amas Musical Theatre, New York City's award-winning pioneer in diversity and multi-ethnic casting in the performing arts since 1968, will celebrate its 45th Anniversary at a gala benefit on Monday, March 31st, 2014 at the Baruch Performing Arts Center (East 25th Street between Lexington and 3rd Avenues). Honorary Chair for the event is veteran Broadway virtuoso Maurice Hines.

New York Live Arts hosted a light breakfast and media briefing on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, to declare 2014-15 The Year of James Baldwin, which will launch April 23 - 27.Curated by celebrated non-fiction writer Lawrence Weschler, in collaboration with New York Live Arts Executive Artistic Director Bill T. Jones, this five day festival-the second annual Live Ideas-will include lectures, panels, performances and a full range of artistic responses to the enduring pertinence of the work of the American essayist, novelist, playwright and social critic.
