New York Live Arts has announced an array of winter and spring events for the Suitcase Fund, Live Arts' signature international artist and cultural exchange program. Events include Research Presentations by Serbian artists Saša Asenti?& Ana Vujanovi?, as well as Marijana Cvetkovi? Markovi? and Miki Braniste; and a two week research residency by South African choreographers Thabiso Pule & Thami Hector Manekhla, in partnership with Movement Research.

Pam Tanowitz Dance Makes Joyce Theater Debut Tonight

Pam Tanowitz Dance makes its long awaited Joyce Theater debut from tonight, February 4 - 6. Presented by The Joyce Theater Foundation, this engagement will include a program of two new works by Tanowitz, a choreographer known for creating work that juxtaposes ballet with classic modern dance. The pieces, both world premieres, will feature live accompaniment.

Alvin Ailey Launches 23-City North American Tour Today

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, beloved as one of the world's most popular dance companies, will travel coast to coast beginning in February on a 23-city North American tour hitting major markets such as Atlanta, Miami, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Chicago (full schedule below). The 25th season since the passing of legendary founder Alvin Ailey is led by Artistic Director Robert Battle who continues to expand the Company's diverse repertory with a wide range of important choreographic voices. Exciting premieres and new productions give Ailey's 30 extraordinary dancers even more ways to inspire audiences. Bilal to Perform One-Night-Only Concert UPTOWN NIGHTS at Harlem Stage, 2/21

Genre-defying singing sensation Bilal performs an intimate concert at the Harlem Stage Gatehouse on February 21, backed by musical powerhouse the Revive Big Band. Fans of the eclectic, Grammy-nominated artist - known for solo hits "Soul Sista" and "Fast Lane," and for collaborations with The Roots, Erykah Badu, Beyonce and Common - will see a different side of the singer at this performance. Coming up on Friday, February 28 at 9:00PM EST, PBS will present the national, TV broadcast premiere of Jazz and the Philharmonic, a co-production by the National YoungArts Foundation-a national organization that identifies and supports the next generation of artists-the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, and JAZZ ROOTS Producer Larry Rosen. Jazz and the Philharmonic was presented and filmed at the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center on January 11, 2013 and is a unique and wholly American concert experience which highlights two of the greatest musical art forms, classical and jazz.
