The Loft Sets Spring & Summer Offerings

This spring heats up at the Loft with a diverse lineup of singer songwriters and world music acts. From playing major festivals like South by Southwest (SxSW) and the Newport Folk Festival, to being featured on NPR's Tiny Desk Concert Series, these acts are some of the hottest currently touring.

Betty Buckley Will Bring New Show DARK BLUE-EYED BLUES to Joe's Pub

After her sold out engagement last fall, BETTY BUCKLEY returns at the end of May for seven performances with a new show tailored specifically for Joe's Pub at The Public called Dark Blue-Eyed Blues. Her new collection of songs - running May 28 through May 31 - will feature 'Musings of a Chanteuse' and will include standards and songs by contemporary writers for some glamour, torch and comedy. She will be joined by Christian Jacob on piano, Tony Marino on bass, Todd Isler on drums and Oz Noy on guitar. Terry Gabis provides sound design.

Betty Buckley Teaches Workshop at Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Beginning Today

Theatre Hall of Fame honoree and legendary Broadway star Betty Buckley will be offering a two month Spring Intensive Song Interpretation Workshop at The Modern Art Mu- seum of Fort Worth beginning today, April 15. The training will focus on preparations for Story Songs V, a concert to be presented in June, starring participants in the workshop.

Gregg Allman Plays Minneapolis' Pantages Tonight

Gregg Allman, the legendary southern rock icon and founding member of The Allman Brothers, brings his eight piece band to Minneapolis at 8 p.m. tonight, March 27, 2015 at Hennepin Theatre Trust's Pantages Theatre (710 Hennepin Ave.). Allman will perform a range of classics from the Allman Brothers Band, blues covers and his own material. Tickets go on sale at 1 p.m. today, Jan. 30. Confirmed! Betty Buckley Will Play 'Carlotta' in London FOLLIES Concert

Yesterday we revealed that Betty Buckley and Peter Polycarpou had joined the starry cast of the one-night-only FOLLIES concert in London at the Royal Albert Hall. Today we've confirmed that Buckley will play 'Carlotta', singing the Sondheim classic 'I'm Still Here'!

Rhiannon Giddens to Play Meany Hall, 5/20

The previously announced performance by the Carolina Chocolate Drops on May 20 at Meany Hall has been reconfigured to feature the group's lead singer, violinist and banjo player Rhiannon Giddens. Giddens, backed by the Grammy-winning band, will perform songs from her highly anticipated new solo album, Tomorrow Is My Turn, to be released by Nonesuch on February 10. Singer/songwriter Bhi Bhiman will open the show.
