Asheville's Roots/Rock Powerhouse The Get Right Band to Hit Charlotte This September

After being named one of Relix Magazine's 'On The Verge' artists, the premiere music outlet has gotten on board again with Asheville NC favorites The Get Right Band. They ran the exclusive of the band's 'Motivation' video, the first video from WHO'S IN CHARGE?. The band celebrates the release with a show in Charlotte at The Double Door Inn on Sept 8th.

Today, the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco (JCCSF) announced new events for their 2016-2017 Arts & Ideas series, featuring dynamic conversations with thought-provoking leaders, acclaimed authors and entertainers, as well as performances from locally and internationally recognized artists. The lineup will continue to expand as new events are announced throughout the series.

Betty Buckley to Perform Tunes from GHOSTLIGHT at NJPAC This September

Betty Buckley, who has been called 'The Voice of Broadway,' is one of theater's most respected and legendary leading ladies. For her NJPAC performances on Saturday, September 17 at 6 and 8:30 p.m., Buckley will feature songs from her new album, Ghostlight.

Segerstrom Center's Cabaret Series Opens with Broadway's Leading Lady Betty Buckley

Tony Award®-winning Broadway legend Betty Buckley returns to Segerstrom Center for the Arts with her new show, Story Songs, October 27 - 29 in Samueli Theater. A renowned interpreter with an eclectic taste for songs from all genres, Buckley will share a collection of tunes by Radiohead as well as theater greats Stephen Schwartz and Jason Robert Brown. The evening will also include works by members of the new generation of exciting young theater composers, Joe Iconis and Ben Toth. Buckley will be joined by her long time Musical Director and arranger, jazz pianist Christian Jacob.

Ralph Stanley, a patriarch of Appalachian music who with his brother Carter helped expand and popularize the genre that became known as bluegrass, died Thursday from difficulties with skin cancer. He was 89.

Betty Buckley Will Give Song Interpretation/Monologue Workshop in NYC This May

Having just completed filming on the new M. Night Shyamalan film Split co-starring with James McAvoy, Tony Award Winner, Theater Hall of Fame 2012 honoree and legendary Broadway star Betty Buckley will be offering a 5 day Song Interpretation & Monologue Intensive Workshop at the T. Schreiber Studio in May.  One of the foremost professional theatre studios in New York City. Established in 1969, T. Schreiber has been a home and training ground for many artists who have gone on to successful careers in theatre, film, and television. The Tony Award Winner will assist aspiring artists, educators and experienced performers in the craft of singing, acting and storytelling before she heads to Los Angeles to reprise her role of Big Edie in Grey Gardens at The Ahmanson Theater.
