Momenta Quartet Plays WP Concert Hall, 4/5

Now in its seventh and most prolific season, the 'outstanding' Momenta Quartet is bringing its first international collaborator to the United States this month. Self-professed 'pluralist singer' Nyak Ina Raseuki, more commonly known by her stage name 'Ubiet,' arrived in the United States to prepare for concert performances of chamber opera Pastoral by leading Indonesian composer Tony Prabowo on a text by renowned Indonesian poet Goenawan Mohamad with the Momenta Quartet and 'engaging' soprano Katharine Dain. There will be only one New York City performance at on Tuesday, April 5th, 2011, 7:30pm at: WMP Concert Hall: 31 East 28th St., NYC Admission: $20/$15 for students and seniors www.wmpconcerthall.com

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, called "a riotously funny and campy variety show" by Next Magazine, and 'a rollicking, wry affair complete with funny political commentary on current events' by Gay City News, will present their newest edition on Thursday, April 21 at 9:30 PM.

This May, Eastman BroadBand, a contemporary chamber ensemble from the Eastman School of Music - one of the nation's premier music institutions, named 'Hottest School for Music' by Newsweek - will return to New York City for back-to-back performances.

Denis O'Hare, Tim Curry, et al. Set for SELECTED SHORTS, 3/26-27

This spring, the acclaimed literary series Selected Shorts: A Celebration of the Short Story returns to the Getty Center from March 26-27, 2011 with an unforgettable lineup of stories. Produced by New York's Symphony Space, this year's series, Delicious Fictions, features three performances by Leonard Nimoy (Star Trek), Tim Curry (The Rocky Horror Picture Show), Denis O'Hare (True Blood), Christina Pickles (Friends), Josh Radnor (How I Met Your Mother), and other top actors reading luscious tales of food and passions, politics, mystery, and deep sea adventure. After each matinee performance and 45 minutes before Saturday's evening program, a perfectly paired wine and a scrumptious treat inspired by the series will be served.

THE MEETING* Comes to Yale, 4/9

JUSTIN SAYRE demonstrated a supernatural instinct for 'camp' at an early age, and it shines throughout The Meeting*. Justin is a child of Forty Fort, Pennsylvania who moved to New York believing it was still 1947. He was terribly misinformed. In 2006, Justin received rave reviews for his solo show 'Without A Song.'

Michael Cusumano Wins Broadway Beauty Pageant

The Broadway Beauty Pageant crowned Michael Cusumano (Mr. Chicago) the winner last evening, Monday, March 21st, 2011 at 8:00 PM, at the benefit for The Ali Forney Center, NYC's primary housing resource for homeless LGBT youth. Michael received standing ovations for his brilliant interpretation of his Russian prima ballerina version of the film 'Black Swan' dancing on pointe. A capacity crowd enjoyed the annual show again at the Peter Norton Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway (at 95th Street). The award-winning Tovah Feldshuh hosted the not-to-be-missed event The other multi-talented contestants were: Matt Anctil, La Cage aux Folles; Raymond J. Lee, Anything Goes; Brandon Rubendall, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark; and James Tabeek, Mary Poppins. Lee Roy Reams opened the show with a long boa singing and dancing with the contestants in a special number 'Beautiful Boys' created by Gerard Alessandrini.. Conceived by Jeffery Self and directed by Ryan J Davis, musical direction by Christopher Denny, choreography by Erin Porvaznika; lighting design by Brian Tovar. The evening was produced by Wil Fisher, Ryan J. Davis, Jeffery Self and Matthew Oberstein.

Resonate! Afternoon Series Explores Culture in African Diaspora
