Performing works by Inhyun Kim, Ashley Fu-Tsun Wang, Marco Stroppa, Kurtag, Messaien, Ligeti, Debussy, and Schumann, pianist Jenny Q. Chai makes her Carnegie Hall debut at Zankel Hall on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 7:30pm. Abigail E. Disney and Pierre Hauser will serve as honorary chairs of Royal Family Productions Benefit Cocktail Reception on Monday, March 12 at 6:30PM at Union Square's Blue Water Grill (31 Union Square). Fresh off their successful run of Gary Duggan's Dedalus Lounge, this event will highlight Off Broadway's Royal Family Productions, from their main stage productions to their educational programs. Contra Costa County's only professional orchestra, California Symphony, presents its spring concert Novacek Plays Rach 3, featuring guest conductor Alastair Willis, whowill conduct a program including Ruslan und Ludmilla Overture by Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka, Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra,and Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 featuring internationally renowned pianist John Novacek. Celebrity judges for the sixth annual The Broadway Beauty Pageant have been announced. Jackie Hoffman (The Addams Family), pop culture columnist Michael Musto, and Tonya Pinkins (Caroline, or Change) have been tapped to judge the event which will take place on Monday evening, March 19th, at 8p.m. at Symphony Space (2537 Broadway at 95th St.). The popular event is the annual benefit of New York's Ali Forney Center.
