Two of the most critically acclaimed bands in the "kindie" music genre: The Okee Dokee Brothers and Recess Monkey perform at Symphony Space on February 18th and 25th. Tickets are still available for these midwinter family performances.

The Okee Dokee Brothers Saturday, February 18, 11 am

Tickets: $13 to $20
Acclaimed for their high energy original songs, this Minnesota duo (Justin Lansing and Joe Mailander) reminds children (and their adults) of their intrinsic ability to discover, imagine, and create through music. With witty lyrics, off-the-wall humor, strong musicianship, and a unique folk/bluegrass style, prepare for a rousing, fresh air hoe-down without having to leave the city. The Okee Dokee Brothers' CD Take It Outside made various “best of the 2010” lists.

This spring, The Okee Dokee Brothers will encourage kids to get outside with songs from their new Can You Canoe? CD/DVD, which is based on their journey down the Mississippi River in 2011.
