Cultural partners Jacob's Pillow Dance and MASS MoCA present two innovative and independent New York-based contemporary dance artists, Katie Workum and Kimberly Bartosik, in a one-night-only engagement, October 24 at 8pm at the Hunter Center. Noted for her 'serious and ambitious' work by Gia Kourlas of The New York Times, Katie Workum brings her new work Black Lakes, full of improvisation, risk, and humor. The second half of the program features New York Dance and Performance ('Bessie') Award winner Kimberly Bartosik's Ecsteriority4 (Part 2), which constructs a landscape of power and desire to explore violence in American culture today. Co-presentations by Jacob's Pillow and MASS MoCA are made possible by the Irene Hunter Fund for Dance.

On Saturday, October 17, Symphony Space presents Frank Sinatra at 100, a starry celebration of the iconic singer's centennial. Over the course of three three-hour sets - 2 pm, 5 pm, and 8 pm - no fewer than 100 songs from Sinatra's repertoire will be performed by an impressive roster of interpreters, including Peter Cincotti, Tony Danza, Rebecca Luker, Marilyn Maye, Tierney Sutton, and dozens more. Instrumental renditions by pianist Bill Charlap, the guitar duo of Bucky Pizzarelli & Ed Laub, and saxophonists Harry Allen and Ted Nash will complement the vocal selections. The house band throughout the day will be led by Russ Kassoff on piano, with Dick Sarpola on bass and John Redsecker on drums.

Two additional performance dates have been added to pianist Anthony de Mare's concert tour of his new 3-CD album Liaisons: Re-Imaging Sondheim from The Piano. De Mare will perform selections from the recording at Bard College on November 2 and at Chicago's PianoForte Studios on December 12. The remaining tour dates include Virginia Tech in Blacksburg VA (September 18) and performances of ALL 36 piano works - split up over three concerts in New York at Birdland (September 24), The Sheen Center (October 22) and Symphony Space (November 19).
The Old Globe opens its 2015-2016 Season with IN YOUR ARMS, a World Premiere dance-theatre musical featuring direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, Godspell, Lincoln Center Theater's The King and I and South Pacific) and original music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once on This Island; two-time Oscar nominee for Anastasia).
