Laura Michelle Kelly, the Olivier Award winning musical theatre actress who won critical acclaim for her lead role in Disney's triumphant London stage production of Mary Poppins, returns to the UK in 2019 to perform at London's Cadogan Hall. This Sunday afternoon November 25th at 2pm, Silence is proud to present a trio of renowned Toronto jazz Improvisors: pianist and composer Tania Gill who will be joined by percussionist Germaine Liu and bassist, Victor Bateman. They will first perform an improvised set of music in concert. Afterward, local improvisors in the audience are welcome to join in an improvisation session to complete the afternoon. Guest presenters will offer exclusive performance insights during the Royal Opera House Cinema Festival, which opens on Monday 3 December in the state-of-the-art Linbury Theatre. Last night, Renee Taylor won the annual The United Solo Special Award, which recognizes artists who have made significant recent contributions to solo theatre during the year, for her critically acclaimed autobiographical comedy MY LIFE ON A DIET. Along with Ms. Taylor, this year's nominees included Derek DelGaudio (In & Of Itself), Alison S. M. Kobayashi (Say Something Bunny!), John Lithgow (Stories By Heart), Chita Rivera (An Evening with Chita Rivera) and Bruce Springsteen (Springsteen on Broadway).

In 2017 after seeing a performance of Barber Shop Chronicles at the National Theatre, Tobi Kyeremateng felt compelled to do something to help more young Black people get to the theatre. She set up Black Ticket Project. It raised funds to help people, who have not accessed and do not have the means to access theatre, get their hands on some tickets. Since 2017 the project has helped people see Nine Night, ear for eye, Poet in Da Corner, Misty, Sylvia, Dreamgirls, SUPERBLACKMAN and the BAC Beatbox Academy's Frankenstein. Black Ticket Project is now delighted to be announcing its biggest project to date.
