On September 15th, Ailey II will embark on a 31-city world tour with 21 domestic stops includingKansas City, MO; Fayetteville, NC; Boulder, CO and Columbus, OH. The international portion of Ailey II's tour will take them to Neuss Germany and nine French cities including Cannes, Beauvais and Toulon (full schedule on page two). New Artistic Director Troy Powell will build upon Ailey II's remarkable tradition and bring a fresh dimension to this beloved company during his inaugural season.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater inspired audiences in Paris this summer and will continue to do so this fall worldwide. The new season is led by artistic director Robert Battle at the New York City Center November 28th to December 30th.

Ailey II recently completed a successful four week international tour with performances in Luxemburg, Germany, Poland and Lithuania. While in Warsaw Poland, Ailey II appeared on Poland's version of "So You Think You Can Dance." Troy Powell who will become Artistic Director of Ailey II next month, taught the four finalists choreography from his 2011 work Reference Point and the finalists attended Ailey II's performance at Poland's Palace of Culture and Science.

World renowned dance company Ailey II returns to the Emelin Theatre with on Saturday April 13 at 8pm. The Ailey organization today announced that one of the dance world's most deeply admired figures, Sylvia Waters, will retire on June 30, 2012, from her position as Artistic Director of Ailey II, the company of young dancers she has led for nearly four decades.
