New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) is proud to present its annual Mother's Day engagement of America's premier modern dance company, Alvin Ailey on Friday, May 8th, 2015 at 8PM, Saturday, May 9th, 2015 at 8PM and Sunday, May 10th, 2015 at 3PM.

Ailey II's "indefatigable, virtuosic, and relentlessly sexy" dancers (Los Angeles Times) return to The Joyce Theater from March 17 - 22with two programs of premieres and recent audience favorites. The Company's spring run at The Joyce will be the first time they will present an independent season at one of dance's most cherished and historic venues. During an eight-performance engagement, their "off-the-charts energy" (The New Yorker) will be amplified in diverse repertory by emerging and established choreographers, including Jennifer Archibald, Amy Hall Garner, Dwight Rhoden, Katarzyna Skarpetowska, Manuel Vignoulle and Ailey II's Artistic Director, Troy Powell.

Ailey II, the youthful and gifted second company of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, returns to its home, the Ailey Citigroup Theater, from today, April 2 - 13 for a highly anticipated 40th anniversary season - the second led by Artistic Director Troy Powell. For two weeks, audiences will experience 14 performances featuring two dynamic programs, which come on the heels of a successful North American tour to over 30 cities and an array of critically acclaimed performances in Germany and France. mtvU, MTV's 24-hour college network, today unveiled a student-conceived interactive video experience to combat human trafficking as part of its 'mtvU Against Our Will Campaign,' which taps into the growing student movement to end modern-day slavery in the U.S. Launched as part of National Slavery and Human Trafficking Awareness Month

Ailey II returns to Columbus with a timeless classic from Alvin Ailey, as well as new works by dance veterans and celebrated emerging choreographers. The evening's program (subject to change) will include Virtues (Amy Hall Garner, 2012), Doscongio (Robert Moses, 1998), Rusty (Benoit-Swan Pouffer, 2012), and Revelations (Alvin Ailey, 1960).

The Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation today announced that after an international search to identify a new Executive Director, the Board of Trustees has chosen to continue the Ailey tradition of passing on leadership from one generation of the organization to the next by naming Bennett Rink to the post. Mr. Rink, Ailey's current Senior Director of Development and External Affairs, will succeed Sharon Gersten Luckman, who hired him in 1994, and who announced at the beginning of 2012 that she would step aside as Executive Director at the beginning of 2013.
