The Classical Theatre of Harlem presents the world premiere of Fit for a Queen, a comedy inspired by the life of Hatshepsut, a woman who ruled as a pharaoh in ancient Egypt. Hatshepsut's female lover helps her usurp the throne, only to finds herself at odds with an unexpectedly ruthless rival for power - her daughter.

Producers Tommy Mottola, the Dodgers, and Tribeca Productions have just announced casting for the Broadway premiere of A BRONX TALE THE MUSICAL, the new musical featuring a book by Academy Award nominee Chazz Palminteri, music by Oscar, Grammy, and Tony Award winner Alan Menken, and lyrics by Grammy Award winner and Oscar and Tony Award nominee Glenn Slater, co-directed by two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro and four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks, with choreography by Tony nominee Sergio Trujillo.

The Byrd Hoffman Water Mill Foundation celebrated its 23rd Annual Summer Benefit & Auction, a one-of-a-kind evening bringing together over 1,000 guests from the worlds of theater, art, performance, fashion, design, and society at The Watermill Center on Saturday, July 30. The event, entitled FADA: HOUSE OF MADNESS, featured new works by Watermill's International Summer Program participants that came from over 25 countries to create installations and performances throughout the eight and-a-half acre grounds. This year, The Watermill Center honored Madame Giancarla Berti.

Pear Theatre opens its 2016/2017 season with two two-person shows running in repertory, each presenting a different perspective on modern conflict, identity, grief, and human nature. THE GUYS by Anne Nelson, directed by Christian Haines, previews on August 24; with Press and Opening Night on Friday, August 26, followed by a champagne gala. VEILS by Tom Coash, directed by Vickie Rozell, previews on August 25; with Press and Opening Night on Saturday, August 27, followed by a champagne gala.
