Adobe Theatre's Presents Their 2020 Season

The National Theatre has announced 15 productions of new plays and fresh adaptations by leading writers.

Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati (ETC), the region's premiere theatre, is delighted to announce its 2019-2020 Season, which features a five-time Tony Award-winning musical, a raucous rom-com with a sweet sixth-sense, an urgent and gripping drama about breaking a sinister cycle, a snapshot of an unsung scientific heroine, and a close-up of a forty-year, age-defying friendship. Along with this compelling lineup, next season also features the return of ETC's very first original holiday musical, plus a seventh (and explicit) show offering for those who are looking for some not-so-family-friendly entertainment.

The nationally and internationally admired Contemporary American Theater Festival (CATF) at Shepherd University celebrates the publication of Plays by Women of the Contemporary American Theater Festival. Four Seasons Books in Shepherdstown, a CATF partner, will host a release party on Thursday, February 28th from 7-9pm. Guests are able to reserve their copy of the anthology by contacting Four Seasons. This event is free and open to the public.

Juliet was traditionally played by a boy. A man played Medea. For centuries, women have been consigned to play lesser parts in the creation and production of theater. And even as progress is being made, gender and age parity, onstage and off, continues to be a major issue in the theater. 

Richard & Tami Davis and Pat Tomsovic have been selected as the recipients of the WYO's 2018 Lotus Award.  The Lotus Award is presented to individuals who inspire passion for the creative arts in Sheridan by demonstrating outstanding support and selfless dedication to the goals of the WYO Theater.

Sam Mendes directs The Lehman Trilogy, a co-production with Neal Street Productions, cast includes Adam Godley, Ben Miles and Simon Russell Beale. Full casting is announced for the award winning An Octoroon by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, transferring to the National Theatre in a co-production with the Orange Tree Theatre. The NT will tour to 30 venues in 27 towns and cities across the UK and Ireland, for a total of 83 playing weeks over the next year. Rufus Norris' Macbeth to tour to 18 venues across the UK and Ireland from autumn 2018. War Horse returns to the National Theatre marking the centenary of Armistice Day.

Mare Nostrum Elements, founded and directed by Kevin Albert and Nicola Iervasi, presents, in collaboration with LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, the fifth annual Emerging Choreographer Series (ECS), showing works by nine young dancemakers.   The talented choreographers, selected from a group of 79 applicants this year, are indeed fortunate in the many benefits ECS offers.

The show will end its 10-week limited engagement on Sunday, January 28.
