New York Youth Symphony Season 2018/19 Announcement

New York Youth Symphony (NYYS), is proud to continue its mission of providing an outstanding music education and performance opportunities to students between the ages of 12-22 by launching a new Musical Theater Composition program aimed at diversifying the world of musical theater. The new director and performance information is expected to be announced in summer 2018. Also new in 2018/19 the NYYS Orchestra and Chamber Music Programs will tour together for the first time ever to Spain in 2019, where they will explore cities including Madrid, Granada, and Seville.

Innocence Mission Share New Video For GREEN BUS From Upcoming Album

'Green Bus' is the first music video taken from from the innocence mission's latest album, Sun on the Square. The animation is by the group's main vocalist and guitarist Karen Peris. The album is being released June 29 by Badman Recording Co.

BREAKING: Peter Dinklage and Haley Bennett To Lead Cast Of Goodspeed Musicals' CYRANO

Goodspeed is assembling a stellar cast for Cyrano an inspired new take on the Edmond Rostand classic Cyrano de Bergerac. Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Peter Dinklage will develop the title role and film actress Haley Bennett will play Roxanne in this bold new musical. Additional casting will be announced at a later date. This exciting musical is adapted by Erica Schmidt in collaboration with members of the Grammy Award-winning indie alternative band The National. Cyrano will run August 3 - September 2, 2018 at The Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn. This project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.

The New York City Ballet, or the House of George Balanchine as some refer to it, is presenting a number of Balanchineless performances. This is as it should be. Balanchine has been dead for over thirty years, and we could not possibly expect revival after revival. However, we can expect a high level of competence and artistry in the new ballets now being offered. Sunday, February 25, 2018, was another example of top notch dancing, if less than stellar choreography.

The Gloaming Releases LIVE AT THE NCH Via Real World Records

Since their formation in 2011, The Gloaming have sold out an unprecedented seventeen consecutive concerts at Dublin's National Concert Hall (NCH). The band will return to NCH this March to play seven (already sold-out) shows (March 5th, 6th, 7th 8th, 10th, 11th, 12th), which will be their only live appearances of 2018. To mark this occasion, Real World Records released Live at the NCH, a curated selection of six songs recorded live at the beautiful concert hall, on March 2nd, 2018.

Goodspeed Musicals is thrilled to announce three enticing productions planned for Chester, Conn. in 2018. First will be the inspiring You Are Here by Drama Desk Award nominees Bartram and Hill. This soaring musical will run May 18 - June 10. Next up will be a new musical adaptation of the enduring love story Cyrano. This exciting new take on the classic will be adapted by Erica Schmidt in collaboration with the indie band The National. Cyrano will run August 3 - September 2.
