New York City Ballet announced today that a new work by choreographer Emma Portner, previously scheduled to premiere on Thursday, January 31 as part of the Company's annual New Combinations evening, will now premiere at NYCB's 2019 Spring Gala performance on Thursday, May 2.
The Metropolitan Opera presents the North American premiere of Marnie, an original Met commission by composer Nico Muhly and librettist Nicholas Wright, on October 19, 2018, with performances continuing until November 10. Based on Winston Graham's haunting novel, which also inspired the classic Alfred Hitchcock film, Marnie is conducted by Robert Spano in his Met debut and directed by Michael Mayer, who created the staging for the opera's world premiere at English National Opera in 2017. The November 10 matinee will be transmitted live to movie theaters throughout the world as part of the Met's Live in HD series.
Choreographer Justin Peck has joined the production team on the new film version of the Broadway musical "West Side Story," to be directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Steven Spielberg. Peck is the Resident Choreographer and soloist dancer with the New York City Ballet and won a Tony Award in 2018 for his choreography in the Broadway revival of "Carousel." Oscar nominated screenwriter and Pulitzer Prize-winner Tony Kushner has written the adaptation of the 1957 musical originally written by Arthur Laurents and Stephen Sondheim with music by Leonard Bernstein, and concept, direction, and choreography by Jerome Robbins.
The legendary Rufus and Martha Wainwright Christmas show, "Noel Nights," is returning to New York City after a four-year hiatus. Featuring three generations of the Wainwright and McGarrigle families, along with many other special guests, this annual holiday extravaganza will bring the Christmas spirit to Town Hall on Sunday, December 16th.

In 2019 the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) will present A New Light: a transformative adventure that will challenge, illuminate, embolden and inspire. With Artistic Director Richard Tognetti at the helm, the ACO will push the concept of 'chamber orchestra' to new heights through embarking on energising and experimental collaborations, both new and revisited. The Orchestra will also continue their exploration of the great music of the past and of today, with each program in 2019 containing music from one or more living composers.

Oh Land - the stage name of Danish singer and artist Nanna Øland Fabricius, has announced a new studio album slated for an early 2019 release. Produced by Thomas Bartlett, known for his work with Sufjan Stevens, The National, St. Vincent, Florence & the Machine and many others, the album will be Oh Land's first studio album in 5 years, and will be a much more intimate album than anything she's released before.
