Fresh off their fourth PBS special which aired in August, the multi-platinum group The Tenors kicked off their Fan Favorites Tour two weeks ago in Canada. This week, they bring their eclectic mix of classical and contemporary music to The Carolina Theatre in Durham.  'There are so many voices external and internal that can stop us from reaching our full potential, and I think the beautiful thing about being on the road is that we are creating an environment that is encouraging for that creative output,' says Fraser Walters, one-third of the band. And Walters is no stranger to being on the road. In fact, he began performing and traveling at the age of eight, first in musical theater and then in operas with such companies as The Edmonton Opera and Seattle Opera. 'I was lucky that my family was quite supportive,' he says. 'You know it really sort of took a community of people to be understanding of a different way to do things.' By 16, he was offered a scholarship to go to school, study theater and play sports in Australia. It was at that time that he landed the role of Jesus in a production of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. 'That was such a formative and transformative experience, and it just all turned my world even more so to music being exactly what I wanted to do for the long term.' Twelve years ago, Walters joined The Tenors, along with Victor Micallef. Two years later, Clifton Murray joined the group. Since then, the trio has performed all over the world, including at The White House for the last four Presidents, at Buckingham Palace for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and during the opening ceremonies of the XXI Olympic Games. And Fraser says it's the weight of their collective life experiences, along with a lot of sacrifices and hard work, that has earned them a stamp of approval from audiences worldwide.

The Ferryman officially opened last night, Sunday, October 21, at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 W. 45th Street) on Broadway.

Barb Jungr joins forces with the formidably talented Grammy and two-time Emmy Award winning U.S. composer, arranger and Music Director, John McDaniel to bring their exciting '1968-Let The Sun Shine In' back to New York City for one show at Birdland on Oct. 22nd, before moving on to Chicago, St. Louis and Los Angeles before the end of the month.

Multiple GRAMMY Award-winning guitarist Sharon Isbin will appear at NJPAC's Victoria Theater on Friday, November 9 at 7:30pm with jazz guitarist Stanley Jordan and Brazilian jazz guitarist Romero Lubambo in an evening that combines jazz, classical, rock and Brazilian styles, featuring three brilliant artists Guitar World says, “these amazing instrumentalists were meant to play together. The chemistry between them is so genuine it was evident they were communicating at another level ... like a love triangle of soul mates who finish each other's sentences.”

The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, kicks off its 2018-19 season with Roll Over Beethoven: A Different Kind of Orchestra today, October 19 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. The orchestra is joined by three time 'Las Vegas Headliner of the Year' singer Frankie Moreno, plus band and a pair of dancers, for an evening of rock 'n' roll favorites by Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and others. Songs include 'Great Balls of Fire,' 'Jailhouse Rock,' 'Eleanor Rigby,' 'Bridge Over Troubled Water,' and more.

The Broad Stage presents Billy Childs and his Jazz Chamber Ensemble on Sunday, November 11 at 7:30pm. One of the foremost American composers of his era, pianist Billy Childs embodies a unique blend of jazz and classical music. The multi-GRAMMY Award winner's groundbreaking project merges improvisation and jazz rhythms with the orchestration and instrumentation of a traditional chamber ensemble.

National Alliance for Musical Theatre (Betsy King Militello, Executive Director) is thrilled to announce final casting for the 30th Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS along with The Songwriters Showcase and Midday Cabarets. The FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS takes place on Thursday, October 25 and Friday, October 26, 2018 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). Festival events kick off on Monday, October 22 with Thank You, 30! a gala event to celebrate the 30th Annual Festival.

Tony award-winner, Elizabeth Ashley ("Take Her She's Mine") and Tony nominee Tom Hewitt ("The Rocky Horror Show") will headline a refreshed production of Paul Rudnick's witty, laugh out loud comedy, "I Hate Hamlet" at Bucks County Playhouse, November 9 - December 1. The play marks Ashley's return to the Playhouse after co-starring opposite Robert Redford in the pre-Broadway production of Neil Simon's "Barefoot in the Park."

The Tank in association with Theater of the Apes will present the 10th anniversary production of the dark holiday comedy, The Truth About Santa, written by Greg Kotis (Winner of 2002 Tony Award, 2001 Drama Desk Award, and 2001 Obie Award for Urinetown), directed by Ilana Becker at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues), December 5-20.

Three-time Tony Award winner Chita Rivera, Tony Award winner Kelli O'Hara, and Emmy-nominated 'Westworld' star Jimmi Simpson have joined the lineup of special guest stars on Yellow Sound Label's special all-star recording THE OTHER JOSH COHEN: a musical with songs will be released this Friday, October 19

Two new character-driven relationship plays, both by award-winning women writers and both inspired by events currently at the forefront of our national consciousness, beat out 1241 other submissions in the inaugural Moss Hart & Kitty Carlisle Hart New Play Initiative. Hart NPI artistic director Christopher Hart will direct Silver Medallion-winning plays Confederates by Suzanne Bradbeer, opening Nov. 9, and Exit Wounds by Wendy Graf, opening Nov. 16, at Grove Theater Center in Burbank, where the two plays will continue to run in repertory through Dec. 16. One will be the named the Gold Medallion winner and open on March 13, 2019 for a six-week, off-Broadway run in the 196-seat "Theater A" at 59E59 Theaters in New York City.

Legends in Concert, the longest-running show in Las Vegas, has announced an all-new residency at Tropicana Las Vegas. Set to debut the second week of February 2019, the acclaimed production boasting an incomparable cast of music legends, will bring its 35-year continuously operating musical tribute spectacular to the Legends in Concert Theater as its 7 p.m. headlining show.

Vincente Amigo, the "technically stunning and emotionally free-flowing" (The Seattle Times) Flamenco guitarist will give a rare Southern California performance today, October 17 at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya).

Eminem joins the musical guest lineup of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' when the show returns to Brooklyn, MONDAY, OCT. 15. From atop the iconic Empire State Building, the rapper will ascend 103 floors – over 1,300 feet – to give a special remote performance that will transform the New York City skyline.

The cast and creative team of THE OTHER JOSH COHEN kicked off rehearsals with a celebration of National Plaid Day, a.k.a. "PLAIDURDAY" today, Friday October 5. Genre is not a word that seems to be in Renee Fleming's vocabulary, just as her vocal ability does not confine her to a certain arena. The four time Grammy award winner graced the Broadway stage last season as Nettie in Rodgers and Hammerstein's CAROUSEL, opposite Jessie Mueller and Josh Henry. Not only that, but the renowned soprano also nabbed a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for said role.
