Last night (8 March 2016) marked the opening of the West End production of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL. With music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and book by Motown founder Berry Gordy, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL is directed by Charles Randolph-Wright. Last month, due to public demand, a further 200,000 tickets were released for sale taking bookings at the Shaftesbury Theatre to 18 February 2017. The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's Cabaret & Performance Conference will hold two days of auditions for its 2016 Junior Fellows summer program. Auditions will be in held in Waterford, CT on Saturday, April 9, and in New York City on Sunday, April 10.

Last night, March 3, 2016, dance music icon, Tiësto, was awarded the Edison Pop Oeuvre Lifetime Achievement Award on a special broadcast of RTL Late Night. Presented since 1960, the annual Dutch prize is one of the oldest music awards in the world and celebrates outstanding achievements within the industry.

? Direct from London's West End, DANCING IN THE STREETS, the original hit stage production celebrating Motown's Greatest Hits, makes its North American debut with a nation-wide tour scheduled to stop at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, Conn. for one night only on Saturday, April 2 at 8 p.m.

Today, we introduce you to four cast members from In The Heights - Lipscomb University's Bekah Purifoy, Belmont University's Chris D. Lee and Arik Vega, and one of the newest members of the Nashville theater community, Ashley Wolfe. Purifoy is a 2015 First Night Most Promising Actor, while Lee and Vega are members of the 2016 Class. Wolfe electrified the audience with her performance at Midwinter's First Night in January.

The Apollo Theater in partnership with World Music Institute presents what has become an annual highlight, AFRICA NOW!. The celebrated event returns to the historic Apollo Theater (253 West 125th Street) on Saturday, March 26, at 8:00 p.m. for its fourth year spotlighting emerging and established artists of today's African music scene.
