PETER GALLAGHER, DON'T GIVE UP ON ME is a new musical play by stage and screen star Peter Gallagher. Featuring great American song selections from 'Pal Joey,' 'Guys and Dolls,' and songs by Cy Coleman, Bart Howard, Lyle Lovett, Leon Russell, Burt Bacharach, Dan Penn and others, this new musical play is the story of an actor's apprenticeships with the legends he admires: James Cagney, Jack Lemmon, Peter O'Toole, Stubby Kaye and more and the journey he takes with them.

Point Foundation (Point), the nation's largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students of merit, today announced the recipients of its Courage and Inspiration Awards. Two-time Tony Award winner (The Heiress, Doubt) and current Emmy nominee (24), Cherry Jones, will receive the Point Courage Award; Motorola will receive the Point Inspiration Award. The awards will be presented at Point's annual Los Angeles benefit, Point Honors, which will be held on September 26, 2009 at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel in Los Angeles.

Peter Gallagher has been announced to co-star in a new pilot for USA Network, Covert Affairs. The show centers on Annie Walker (Piper Perabo), a multilingual CIA trainee who joins the agency while reeling over a mysterious ex-boyfriend who appears to be of particular interest to her bosses. Gallagher will play CIA director Arthur Campbell, a regal man and former Naval officer who loves a good fight, great Scotch and a filthy joke.

Legendary actor, director, writer and producer Jerry Lewis will make his theatrical directorial debut on Broadway with the new musical, THE NUTTY PROFESSOR, based on the 1963 film that he starred in and co-wrote. With music by Academy Award, Emmy Award, Grammy Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Marvin Hamlisch and a book and lyrics by multiple Tony Award winner and Grammy Nominee Rupert Holmes, the musical is aiming for a bow on Broadway in the 2010/2011 season and is being produced by Loud Watch Productions, LLC.

The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Oscar nominee and 2001 Tony winner Viola Davis is negotiating to take a featured role in Columbia Picture's 'Eat, Pray, Love' opposite Julia Roberts and Richard Jenkins. Scheduling is being worked out for the actress to join the production.

Marilyn Bergman Retires As President Of ASCAP

Marilyn Bergman, three time Academy Award-winning Songwriter, is stepping down as president and CEO of ASCAP. 82-year old Bergman has led the organization for 15 years, and will remain on the board of directors. Her successor will be elected during a board meeting later this month.
