The five finalists voted by Swedish television's reality show 'West End Star' today visit London's Palace Theatre to begin rehearsals for the chance to play The Lady of the Lake, the leading female role in the West End hit musical, Monty Python's Spamalot.
The ten Ladies of the Lake selected by Swedish television reality show 'West End Star' were revealed this weekend on Sweden's TV3. The finalists - selected by a panel of experts from almost a thousand hopefuls who attended auditions across Sweden - will now battle it out in a series of live studio shows to claim the holy grail of prizes: the role of the Lady of the Lake in the West End production of Monty Python's Spamalot.
Following recent celebrations to mark a year in the West End, Monty Python's Spamalot today announces a new booking period, taking bookings at the Palace Theatre through to September 27, 2008.
In January 2008, multi-Tony Award and Oliver nominated leading lady Marin Mazzie who currently plays 'The Lady of the Lake' on Broadway will join the London cast, swapping roles with Hannah Waddingham who flies to New York to make her debut on the Great White Way.
