Series with the world premiere of Brett Neveu's haunting drama HER AMERICA (formerly titled MISS AMERICA), starring veteran Chicago and Broadway actress Kate Buddeke and directed by Linda Gillum. HER AMERICA will play January 6 - February 12, 2017 at The Greenhouse Theater Center (Downstairs Mainstage), 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago. Eclipse Theatre Company announces its Eighth Annual Corona Award, to be presented to Joseph Drummond, Goodman Theatre Production Stage Manager. The Corona Award honors an individual who has played an important role in supporting and nurturing the growth of the Chicago theater community as well as small- to medium-sized ensembles such as Eclipse Theatre. The Corona Award derives its name from the Latin word, meaning crown, as well as outer atmosphere of the sun most easily seen during a total eclipse.

A widower, a divorcee, and a 'permanently single' political figure all end up going for younger guys in this hilarious look at what pop culture lovingly calls 'cougars'. It feels familiar, but it also brings something touching and new to the table.

Casting is complete for the three 'developmental productions' featured in Goodman Theatre's 13th annual New Stages festival, a free celebration of new works by some of the country's finest established and emerging playwrights. These three plays, which are staged in repertory with modest production values following three weeks of rehearsal, include Blue Skies Process by Abe Koogler, directed by Henry Wishcamper; Support Group for Men by Ellen Fairey, directed by Kimberly Senior; and The King of Hell's Palace by Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig, directed by Tea Alagi. As the summer comes to a close the heat is still on within the theatre community in H-Town. We are promised to see rappers at TUTS, Janis Joplin at the Alley and three cougars spicing it up at The Ensemble. The historic Ensemble Theatre is celebrating their 40th Anniversary and they will begin the bill with the tantalizing and steamy regional premiere of SASSY MAMAS by noted playwright Celeste Bedford Walker.
