Jason Alexander, Yo-Yo Ma & More Set for Tanglewood's 2014 Summer Season

In 2014 Tanglewood welcomes Andris Nelsonsfor his first festival appearances as BSO Music Director Designate. His first of four concerts with the BSO will be an all-Dvo?ak program, with the composer's symphonic poem The Noonday Witch, the Violin Concerto with soloist Anne-Sophie Mutter, and the Symphony No. 8 (7/11). For his second BSO program on July 19, Maestro Nelsons will be joined by Swedish trumpeter Hakan Hardenberger performing his compatriot Rolf Martinsson's Trumpet Concerto, on a program with music by Brahms and Tchaikovsky. The following Sunday afternoon (7/20), Maestro Nelsons will open his BSO program withChristopher Rouse's Rapture, followed by Lalo'sSymphonie espagnole, with violin soloist Joshua Bell, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5.

Based off the popular Magic Tree House book series by Mary Pope Osborne, A NIGHT IN NEW ORLEANS makes its rolling world premiere at Orlando Shakespeare. Not only does this production introduce young audiences to musical theater, it also provided Orlando public school students with an opportunity to receive a generous book donations from amazing corporate partners. Kids of all ages will enjoy reading the stories and then seeing it come to life on stage.

Esa-Pekka Salonen to Lead LA Phil, Leila Josefowicz at Walt Disney Concert Hall, 10/25-27

Los Angeles Philharmonic Conductor Laureate Esa-Pekka Salonen concludes his two-week stint at Walt Disney Concert Hall by leading the LA Phil and violinist Leila Josefowicz in his Violin Concerto, Friday and Saturday, October 25 and 26, at 8 pm, as well as Sunday, October 27, at 2 pm. All three performances also feature one of Salonen's most famous specialties, Sibelius' Fifth Symphony. The Saturday and Sunday performances open with Ives' The Unanswered Question.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) presents Madam Walker and the Divine Dream. Performances will take place on July 10th at 3:00PM & 7:00PM and July 13th at 8:00PM at The Studio at Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd Street). Starring Jennifer Fouche* (Off-Broadway's Sistas), Angela Grovey* (Broadway's Leap of Faith), two time Audelco Award Winner Juson Williams*, Kenya Lee*, Cheryl Gadsden, Annie Lee Moffett*, Carrie Compere* (Broadway bound Holler If You Hear Me, National tourShrek the Musical), Audelco nominated chandra thomas*, and Michael Roberts* (National and International tour West Side Story, Dreamgirls) . The book and lyrics are written by Steve Mackes and music by Joseph-Vernon Banks. Kevin Ray serves as music director and Bayo is stage manager.

Music Director Jacques Lacombe and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra present Tchaikovsky's mighty Fifth Symphony on a concert program that features the East Coast premiere of Steven Mackey's Stumble to Grace Concerto for Piano and Orchestra with pianist Orli Shaham. The Orchestra performs the Princeton University professor's concerto as part of the New Jersey Roots Project, which celebrates the music of composers whose artistic identity has been influenced by their time in the Garden State.

Madeleine Peyroux Joins Art of Time Ensemble for SONGBOOK 7, 5/31 & 6/1

Art of Time Ensemble closes their 2012/13 season on a high note, welcoming world renowned jazz singer Madeleine Peyroux to the Enwave Theatre stage on May 31 and June 1. In Songbook 7, Peyroux steps outside her comfort zone to perform twelve handpicked songs from her favourite artists, including Billy Joel, Elvis Presley and George and Ira Gershwin. Due to the popularity of the concert, a new block of tickets for the almost sold-out performances was released Tuesday, April 30.

Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF (http://orlandoshakes.org) concludes its 2012-2013 Theater for Young Audiences Series (TYA) with the musical, Miss Nelson Has a Field Day. Based on the books of Harry Allard & James Marshall, this musical adventure is recommended for families with children ages 4 and older. Miss Nelson Has a Field Day will be playing in the Margeson Theater from April 4 - May 5, 2013 with preview performances on April 4 and April 5. Free spring activities and crafts will be provided by Amaya Papaya one hour before the opening performance on Saturday, April 6th at 2 p.m.

John Adams Leads the LA Phil and Leila Josefowicz at Walt Disney Concert Hall, 4/5-7

Los Angeles Philharmonic Creative Chair John Adams leads the orchestra in three performances at Walt Disney Concert Hall, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 4, 5 and 6, at 8 pm. All three programs feature Adams' Violin Concerto, played by Leila Josefowicz, a close and frequent collaborator with Adams, and the West Coast premiere of Philip Glass' LA Phil-co-commissioned Symphony No. 9. The Thursday and Saturday programs also include Arvo Part's Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten.
