CMS introduces a new online schedule in January, with concerts premiering Thursday evenings and educational and conversational programs premiering on Monday evenings.
The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center has announced a Fall Season of digital concerts to replace each of the performances originally scheduled for Alice Tully Hall -- Front Row Mainstage, 16 newly-curated concerts drawn from CMS's vast archive of high-quality recordings.

CMS's 50th anniversary season will celebrate the 250th birthday of Beethoven with the 2020 edition of the Winter Festival of performances of all sixteen of the master's string quartets. They will be performed in groups corresponding to the composer's early, middle, and late periods, in the order they were composed between 1798 and 1826. Performing the sixteen quartets is a mental, physical, and emotional challenge for the artists, and they are rarely performed as a set. For the CMS Winter Festival the performances will be by the critically-acclaimed Danish String Quartet.
CMS's 50th anniversary season heads into 2020 with performances of new music, beloved classic pieces, stellar guest artists, and far-reaching tour dates. On January 14 the first truly impressionist-style piece of chamber music and a breakthrough for the string quartet form, Debussy's String Quartet in G minor for Strings, will be performed, along with Brahms's Quartet No. 2 in A major.
CMS continues its 50th anniversary celebration with its annual holiday Baroque festival throughout the month of December. Bach's a?oeGoldberga?? Variations, composed near the end of his life, will be performed on December 3rd by Jeffrey Kahane, one of a handful of masters of this work. Kahane will begin the performance with remarks on this monumental piece, which is an immersive experience during which the listener journeys through time and space. The next day, Kahane will give a free master class on solo piano works by Bach and other composers (December 4th).
The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center opens the fall season of its 50th anniversary year in Alice Tully Hall on Tuesday October 15, 2019. The program will highlight Dvorák's “American” quintet—a work inspired by the plains of Spillville, Iowa, and the music of Native and African-Americans—along with works by African-American composer Harry Burleigh, and iconic American composers Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein.
THE CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY OF LINCOLN CENTER (CMS) returns to the historic resort town of Saratoga Springs in upstate New York on August 4 - 20, with a roster of internationally celebrated artists. CMS will be taking audiences at the Spa Little Theatre on a musical journey with six programs designed specifically for the Saratoga Performing Arts Center Residency of 23 works never before been performed by CMS at SPAC. The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's season-long focus on the music of Russia comes to a highpoint in March with its annual Winter Festival, Russian Panorama, which will present four programs filled with Russian works composed between 1832 and 1979 (Mar. 10, 15, 19 & 24). The Festival's broad survey of repertoire will range from the age of the tsars to beyond the Soviet era, comprising works by Balakirev, Borodin, Glinka, Glazunov, Myaskovsky, Prokofiev, Rachmaninov, Rimsky-Korsakov, Rubinstein, Schnittke, Shostakovich, Stravinsky, Taneyev, and Tchaikovsky. The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center starts its 2019 winter/spring season in Alice Tully Hall with two exciting performances. The Girl Who Loved Wild Horses, a Meet the Music!concert for families based on Paul Goble's haunting tale of a Native American girl who understands horses on a mystical level, will be presented on January 13. Led by series creator and host Bruce Adolphe, the performance features flutist Sooyun Kim, clarinetist Romie de Guise-Langlois, cellist Mihai Marica, pianist David Kaplan, percussionist Eduardo Leandro, and a free instrumental petting zoo in the lobby for kids. It will be followed by Esteemed Ensemble, which reunites close friends and colleagues pianist Wu Han, violinist Daniel Hope, violist Paul Neubauer, and cellist David Finckel,performing piano quartet classics by Suk, Brahms, and Dvo?ak on January 27 and 29.
